Yes Maestro, Wynton is IMO the finest living trumpet player on the planet and has done a huge amount to rescue Jazz from the inward looking excluding music it was becoming. Seen him live twice in Brighton & Glasgow. <ok>

No arguments from me on that one. I was lucky enough to see a mster class with him back in 1984.
Not only is he an awesome player, he is also down to Eart and a really nice bloke.

I have to admit, though my favourite trumpet jazz trumpeter was the late great Maynard Ferguson. Have a listen to his version of Hey Jude if you get the chance. It's mind blowing

Stan Getz is definitely my favourite sax player. His playing style was originally called "warm" but I liken it to cream. Just like Nat King Cole's voice, it is just perfect. I know they all had to give fusion a try but I think his attempt failed badly. Tony Williams, Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke didn't seem comfortable bedfellows.
Of the current players Marsalis is probably most peoples favourite. Donald Byrd was a favourite but I guess he might be too old to play anymore.
