I agree, the Bristol Rovers match thread was VG, thanks to Jack.

There aren't too many teams on here from L2 but maybe good match threads could be advertised and possibly result in more teams coming over. Where we do play teams with a fan base on here the mods of each forum can agree to share a thread. What we could do for each match is firstly agree on who sets up the match thread. Then the mods of both forums can agree to arrange a single shared match thread (as per the BR thread).

A good early build up would be ideal. Just need volunteers to do it. Doesn't have to be the same person each week but a good idea to be clear who is doing it for each upcoming match to avoid duplication of effort.

Maybe we could predict scores just for the Wycombe matches and score points depending on goals and results predicted. These could be accumulated over a month or for the remainder of the season. Or we could run another mini betting competition where we simply predict the scores of all Wycombe L2 matches, having one or more stabs at the score (Eg £10 Wycombe to win 1-0, £20 Wycombe to win 2-0 etc).

We could resurrect the music thread Rocky set up to keep us going off season. Bristol Rovers have a 3 word story thread. Someone starts off a story with 3 words and someone else has to continue the story with another 3 words etc. Can get quite amusing.

If anyone knows of any other games etc that can keep us amused when needing to wind down some evenings, please add them below.

Of course, although this is a football forum I like to think of it as a forum for like minded folk to chat about anything. On the Horse Racing forum, for example, we do not restrict conversations to just horse racing and this does add some spice to some threads. If anyone has anything amusing, or otherwise interesting, to say feel free to widen the scope of the forum.

It's our forum and we can make it what we want.

    3 word story example - http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/84241-3-word-story nearly 1800 comments so far. 1 hell of a story <laugh>

attendance game, each member guesses the attendance for your match, and closest gets 5 points, runner up get 3 points and 3rd place 1 point. make a league table.

try keeping up to date with team news and stories. sometimes on our board we beat the OS fans forum to news about the gas. make this place the place to be for breaking news.

seems to have 4 boards that are active in our league - gas, wickham, gills and plymouth. all have mods. maybe we all join up for a league 2 match thread so all 4 board discuss the match and other ongoings with important games around league 2 during the match. example have the league 2 matchday thread on the gas board and then create the same thread on wickhams, gills and plymouths board and the mods on each board redirect the thread to the main thread on the gas board so we then have 4 threads linked in to 1 thread like a 4 way cross thread. think the banter between the 4 sides be good and will be a busy thread leading up to match days and on match days and post match as well. imagine how much better it will be if shrewsbury get relegated to league 2 as well. next season would be fun <laugh>

picture threads like guess the stadium or player

each person try asking 1 person they know to join up. this place will grow the best with advertisement. word of mouth is the best form of advertisement.

thats all i can think of now at 1am <doh> im trying though :)

also if someone is good with twitter and facebook, create a wycombe not606 twitter page and get busy on twitter. create a wycombe not606 facebook page as well get get busy on that <ok>

if any of you use other forums, try hinting not606 is a good forum to get people interested in looking. on the gas OS fans forum, i have a link to the gas not606 page as my signature. that alone have worked wonders for us.

Thanks for your honest answers JS. Incidentally you don't need to log on and off from here. I never log off. I just have shortcuts on my desktop that take me straight into my regular forums and admin. facilities.

The BBC 606 used to run alongside the Gasroom, and Not 606 attracted virtually all members from BBC 606 and plenty more. The activity dropped off after the Hayes sagas faded away. Was there a drop in activity on Gasroom at that time?

Based on your information, for which thanks very much, it would be good if we could have a link to some of the debates/news that we aren't getting here so that members from here could join in on Gasroom and/or continue debate amongst ourselves on here. No reason why we can't have a friendly partnership; we all support the same team.

    Right

Who do we have here, JS aside, who also frequents the Gasroom?

Are any of you willing to link up with that forum (as suggested above) in order to create a bit more activity on here, always acknowledging the source of any news?

    Suggested plan of action.

    1. Identify all forums and web sites covering any Wycombe Wanderers related activity. All members are invited to add any site/forum new links. These will be added to an index
    2. Create a Forum Watch thread where any interesting topic will be picked up, logged and posted for comment on this Forum. All members are invited to add anything that could be of interest, All such items must provide a link to the original source and to the Not 606 post. This will enable me to monitor the success or otherise.
    3. Create a News Watch thread where all braking news is identified and a post created, linking back to the source article. This will include Twitter and Facebook as well as recognised news sites
    4. Everyone to promote this forum as much as possible, including word of mouth, links from other forums, Twitter, Facebook, local radio, Chairboys Player etc. Please note we should never attempt to attract members away from other forums, but merely to make them aware of our existence (invites to competitions, or a particular debate for example)
    5. Everyone to find a few moments to suggest ways to make the forum more interesting. For this I will set up a Suggestion Box thread
    6. We could have some form of recognition for successful promotions/ideas (eg Reputation Power Points)

I will set up new threads at the weekend. Meanwhile, views welcome.

    Thanks
    Ron

We will see how it goes for 3 months.

I have a look on the Gasroom most days as it's quite busy with new threads nearly every day most of which are interesting and amusing, most of their fans on there have a great sense of humour.
