OMFG!!!!!! sturridge v n'gog!!! ther eis no comparision whatsoever. seriously though n'gog really has set bolton alight yeah? if sturrdige has dragged chelsea down to 6th and caused di matteo to ge tthe sack i'd take that over relegation anyday. i have to think bent is a guy who's ended so many manegrs carrer since he had one or two decent years. fialed at three clubs now IMO
Journo's just want to stretch out the "Liverpool sign bent" joke for another window in my opinion please log in to view this image

This is what worries me. Love having youth in our team and its what everyone wants to see, but why solely English crap? Muniain at Bilbao and similar players have much more promise and ability. Nothing wrong with having an experienced striker like Huntelaar either. I feel we are all going to be left severely disappointed and upset in January.
Don't have to worry about Bent now... http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=1253227&cc=5901 18 mil???????????????????????????????????????????????
Your right, we will spend 12-18 on Sturridge, Walcott, or Bent. I know we could get him for a free in the summer, but why not just test Bilbaos resolve and Llorente as well with a 10 mil bid for him in January? Get Pepe, Jose Enrique, Suarez on the phone with him to convince him to come score goals for us. If they are willing to let him go in the summer for free they must entertain this. Although he was worth probably 20 by him not playing at all lately, I think the value has dropped and we COULD, could get him for a cut price.
personally this u23 bull crap is just that.... you could write off suarez then cos he'd have been 24... bull crap. identify a top talent at the right price and move... move fast move with surity. don't play games, don't do brinkmanship.... just go after the guy you are sure about... then we'll sack you if you are wrong... simple. torres was a sure fire want for rafa and we got him..... keane was a third choice but he still contributed far more than n'dog and was one big reason we got 2nd.. when torres was injured before keane got sold he did a bit of work for us... we sold him and torres got injured and we were screwed. since then we bought what???? carroll on the brink in panic... suarez we had to beg for cash for and got on the last day once suarez went. borini? well rodgers wanted him. so if theres 3 players he wants i think FSG had better go buy them of chuff off and sell us for a break even price cos frankly we'll be so far away from the top shortly we may as well be owned by moores.
FGS! I'm not saying N'gog is as good - I am saying that Sturridge is not worth the huge investment difference over N'gog given the likely return. IN 90+ appearances for LFC N'gog netted only about 8 or so goals (league) - Sturridge for the Chavs played about the same number of times in the league, almost the same minutes on the pitch, and he only scored something like 12 league goals. I just don't think £15mil and a fat wage would represent a good use of money over what we already had in N'gog. I'd rather see Morgan get an extended run. Or even Walcott, who is showing some potential and decent finishing in front of goal. I just think Sturridge is too much of an unproven asset, when at 23, he should be showing far more. Torres at 23 was club captain at Madrid, and was scoring at a rate of 1 in 3. I just don't see Sturridge as being anything like as good...
We really don't need another midfielder but I think Honda can play multiple roles. Still, he is a class player.
sturridge is world class.... until he joins us! he's english, plays for a fashionable club and is a prima dona... he must be world class right? this is n'gog in the prem league for us 2008-09 14 2 2009–10 24 5 2010–11 25 2 Total 63 games 9 goals this is sturridge chelski 2009–10 13 1 2010–11 13 0 2011–12 30 11 noting this was from right side 2012–13 5 1 his loan to bolton 2010–11 12 8 now this is just prem..... I think there's a case here that as a young man he really put people on notice with that loan to bolton and his manager at chelsea did take notice and played him the following year.... however AVB was sacked and then dimatteo didn't pick him.... i think there's a gulf in talent here. N'dog is just a dog who's not playing very well at bolton and not socring that many there either while sturridge is a player who will command that fee easily again if we sell him.. the fact we scammed 4.5mil off bolton for n'dog was good business. For the record, morgan i don't think has the raw pace to make it... he's a long way off first team action. Walcott is injury prone, so injury prone i'd not take him on a fee if it meant more joe cole wages. finally for the record, if your manager would not pick you there's not much a guy can do but behave and get on with it. I think sturridge hasn't and thats the only bad thing in this deal. Torres... 3 in 1 at 23 he was already with us and scoring for fun! Yes he socred at a good rate but torres cost 27mil not 12mil. sturridge's attitude is at issue but he's playing for chavcentral not athletico (small time) so he rally forced his way in under AVB and did very well to keep anelka out... but di matteo didn't fancy him and now you've got a host of ultra expensive players bought in in those positions including torres and he's a sub at best. this is a bargain IMO as it represents value, unlike carroll there is only a small chance we won't at the very least make all our money back on this deal.
simple sturridge. if we assume the two command roughly the same wages (90k per week) then IMO the biggest risk factor there is is theo walcott spending 50% of the time in the treatment room with all sorts of complaints. If you follow that up by having to walk the ball out to walcott and handing it on a platter to him sometimes then the choice makes itself. Frankly if you wrote a checklist of what you're looking for then neither man would tick all those boxes, both "have game" (americanism) but I think sturridge has more about him in terms of wanting the ball but his attitude seems to suck ass (another americanism, can't wait to be home) I've seen some real quality goals being scored by sturridge and i think he's a good finisher which is what we need.
