I feel Watford are good to give us a hard fight: http://www.sportinglife.com/footbal...le/360/8311034/hornets-fancied-to-sting-hull? This bit is noteworthy: "But with Zola being able to call on an army of high-class loanees from the Pozzo's other clubs, Udinese and Granada, they are absolutely flying."
The way my week is going at present I have no doubt that City will lose just to piss me off even more.
Definitely a hard one, especially since as in they've battered every other Yorkshire Club they've played this year. If we came away from this one with a Clean Sheet, I'd be ecstatic. We're looking for a point at least here. 3 points would be amazing.
This will be a real test of our promotion credentials. Should be a good game for the neutral with 2 attacking teams. A 2-2 draw?
I think the FA might well review the loan rules going forward(and bring them more into line with the Premier League rules), Watford currently have 14 loan players, in their last match 8 of the 14 who featured were loan players... 01 Almunia 06 Hall 18 Pudil - On loan from Granada. 27 Cassetti - On loan from Udinese. 31 Hoban 39 Chalobah - On loan from Chelsea. 40 Ekstrand - On loan from Udinese. 07 Yeates 08 Hogg 09 Deeney 41 Forestieri - On loan from Udinese. Battocchio - 71' - On loan from Udinese. Geijo - 81' - On loan from Udinese. Vydra - 66' - On loan from Udinese. Any club could just loan the Barcelona B team and have a decent chance of getting promoted to the Premier League, it's a farcical situation.
I thought you could only have 5 loan players in any squad? Do overseas loans not count? It's the ownership thing that annoys me. Not just any club could get the Barca B team, if they could they would. But owning two clubs and sending all your reserves to your '2nd' club in another country to gain promotion seems a bit dodgy to me. Unlike Man City for example, they don't even have to pay anyone for all these players so no one benefits but themselves.
I don't think they do. I raised this with Ipswich fans on their board. They have 8 players on loan and I mentioned that they can only have 5 in the squad, but they said that their loans from foreign clubs didn't count
Foreign loans don't have the limits that domestic loans have, you could literally play the entire Barcelona B team, if you could manage to get them on loan.
There is no different limit between loans in the squad and actually on the pitch, it'd be awfully complicated planning your substitutions with that in mind! I think it's just a limit of 5 domestic loan players in any matchday squad.
It's ridiculous, murdoch league loan rules are way better. Watford should be stripped of all their points, fined heavily and then given a points deduction to put them into negatives. ****ing cheating pieces of north London ****. Hope they all die.
The loan situation is a joke there, but aside from that they're playing ****ing well and i'd take a point. If we could steal a win I'd be over the moon, tough fixture for sure.
Anything from this game will be a plus, but you never know, let's hope for a win which would be fantastic.
Ours players are only "loanees" in the sense that if we don't want to keep them permanently then we can send them back. We're going to be signing 4 or 5 of the best loanees in January, they're not just mercenaries. It's within the rules, Udinese could have just given us all the players for free and if we didn't want them we could sell them back... but that's just more hassle than necessary. This isn't really any different to what teams like yourself have been doing. Spending millions more than the club alone can afford because either you have a sugar daddy or you're taking a chance on promotion. The only difference is that what we're doing is more financially stable. Udinese have them on their books anyway, so they might as well put them to use by helping us get promotion.
