... or it could be the end of Cov. They have 21 days to pay unpaid rent on the Richo arena or it´s good night. No fans, no money, no stadium & a winding up order. The state footballs in.
There's two things I don't understand about this. 1) How did they end up in a deal where they're due to pay over £1M a year in rent? Our deal is the same set up and the Council only received £45k in rent in the first 8 years or so, which is even more remarkable since they'd paid about £800k in rent to use some of their own facilities. 2) The company that runs the stadium is doing it on behalf of the Council, it's not their stadium so there's no "knock it down and build houses" option going on. Surely if they take Coventry City out of it with legal action to get the money they're entitled to but that CCFC don't have there'll be nothing left for them to manage so they'll bring about their own demise anyway?
Here Here, in the end it does not matter who the team is, I don't want any club to go under. Besides if they do it will end one of our local rivalries and that can only be bad
I point out the ground to people when we pass it on the M6, would be a shame if it wasn't there anymore. Would haveto find a new Derby team too, its always had a nice ring, the M69 derby, haveto have the A46/A52 derby with Florest
I remember the ****e their fans gave us when we went in to admin. I have a lot of mates who are cov supporters, but to be quite honest - if there is one team I would like to see go under, then it is them. Their management company, SISU, deserve to go into liquidation for the total mismanagement of the football club over last few years. However, I would like to see them resurrected - just like Wimbledon, and preferably relocated as far away as possible - I believe Anglesey is short of a professional football club.
I agree, don't remember any of the chavs showing any sympathy for us when we were in it, they loved it...they were still praying that our spending would end in tears last season. The fact is.. they are the architects of their own downfall. Poor support , bad business plan, and now trying to weedle out of their financial commitments, by not paying what they owe, thus putting another concern in trouble.
Unfortunately I fear the language barrier would make that impossible ... Druid and Chav are lingustic antithises...

Football is going down hill slowly but surely. Low attendences, diving, violence (on the pitch), high ticket prices, way high wages, stewards (who spoil the game), **** refs, clubs changing managers left, right & centre, clubs in financial nightmeres & way way way too many premadonnas that anyone sport can handle. I feel sorry for the supporters of these clubs that go out of business. We (LCFC) were not that far off it, can you imagine LCFC playing in the 5th tier or not even being a football club any more ? Look at Rangers, Cov, Pompey, Aldershot, Wimbledon... non of it was the fans fault. Stay in div 1 Cov, but stay a football club. "UTF"
