Yeah, good first day. Be brilliant to win this test and not lose the series.
Not expecting to win the series but a draw would be excellent.

A good start, but they bat low and we'll have to bat last, unless we get a big, big first innings total <ok>

That'll be the plan, get a first innings lead of about hundred and take it from there.

    Not too much to ask!

I have a horrible suspicion that team is the one that got away with daylight robbery in 1977 and robbed us of the first treble in English football <doh>

Don't see the hypocrisy to be honest, tho' I guess the same author has written something about Suarez' diving?

I can see his point to an extent, in that if you take the foul you run the risk of being injured whilst if you anticipate it you are accused of diving. Ronaldo had the same problem, and he was a lot faster than Bale.

But I don't agree with the argument that the only way to deal with it is to dive, particularly not as theatrically as Bale does. The solution is to be more like Ronaldo and Drogba were in their later years - dodge the challenge when you can, take the foul sometimes, and only anticipate it occasionally. That way you don't get the reputations players like Bale and Suarez get, or at least the reputation doesn't get as pronounced in the minds of the refs.

    "rascist"?

Bale is 'white' and looks like a chimpanzee.

    Jebus,

Some tripe typed indeed. this is totally hypocritical. Why, Not once has this been used to defend Suarez by the media, he was stamped on karate chopped and does get fouled as does any other player. All because Bale took a few tackles in his career, I never remember Ryan Giggs flopping about the place like that when the game was tougher and he's playing till 40 <doh>

If Bale looks at his own antics afterwards on video, the ONLY excuse possible.. I was diving out of the way to save myself.

Lies and bollox, a self preserving dive looks nothing like Bale's swan dive.

Midfielders defenders goal keepers all anticipate contact, should they now dive all over the place.

Also Ronaldo runs on the balls of his feet and not a proper stride like say Owen. Far easier to go down when you run like that, far far easier so in that context running on your tiptoes should get you lots of free kicks

here's a bit of Bale protecting himself, there's plenty more too.

Quick google of 'Neil Ashton Suarez' brings this gem up:

1 month on and Bale has overtaken Suarez with the amount of yellow cards for simulation, it isn't a proof of diving, its just clever play <ok>

We were totally robbed. That goal off Greenhoff's chest was one of the most ludicrous things I've ever seen. I know. I was there.
