    <laugh> is that why the car sat watching the funeral the entire time. Considering the authorities were so quick to save michael stone's skin and that the original 3 were shot while they were unarmed by the SAS "tough guys", i really dont know what they thought was going to happen once their cover was blown

    So two members of army intelligence just took a leisurely drive down near milltown during a very highly charged funeral. They either were not very good at their job of intelligence or they were up to something, almost certain to have been the latter.

    Fair play to you for signing up. Don't slate others for not doing so. Circumstances are different for everyone.

    You seem to think that having served in the forces makes you some kind of divine being. I fully respect anyone who serves, I really do. But you are as culpable to bias as anyone else. Of course you are only going to see what you want to see. You know Hitler genuinely believed he was doing the right thing don't you?

    Should add I'm on neither side in this argument, think the world needs to move on tbh.

    Another detailed study,[85] gives the following figures for people killed by the Provisional IRA up to 2004:

    644 civilians,
    456 British military (including British Army, RAF, Royal Navy, and Territorial Army), 273 Royal Ulster Constabulary (including RUC reserve), 182 Ulster Defence Regiment,
    163 Republican paramilitary members (including from the IRA),
    28 loyalist paramilitary members, 23 Northern Ireland Prison Service officers, 7 Gardai or Irish Army, and five British police officers (Lost Lives, page 1536).
    Lost Lives therefore concludes that the Provisional IRA was responsible for a total of 1,781 deaths to date. It has also been estimated that the IRA injured 6,000 British Army, UDR and RUC and up to 14,000 civilians, during the Troubles.[86]
