That makes no difference, I don't even look at the predictions after the game has kicked off. However this works I have to go and check each individual set of predictions after I know the results.
Fine then if there is a 5 goal difference between your prediction and the actual result then I will knock 5 points off your score
It sounds far too messy to me, if we want an extra prediction, why not just City's first scorer? Arsenal 2-1 West Brom Man City 1-2 Man Utd Southampton 1-1 Reading Wigan 2-1 QPR Blackburn 1-1 Cardiff Derby 1-2 Leeds Crystal Palace 2-1 Blackpool Watford 1-1 Hull City (Koren) Preston 2-1 Crewe Rochdale 1-2 Exeter
All this extra predicting seems a bit unnecessary to me, especially halfway through the season. If you want more why not just more games or midweek games involved? I'll put mine in for the weekend closer to the time, and when we know wtf is going on!
Arsenal 3-1 West Brom Man City 2-2 Man Utd Southampton 2-1 Reading Wigan 1-2 QPR Blackburn 2-1 Cardiff Derby 1-1 Leeds Crystal Palace 4-1 Blackpool Watford 1-2 Hull City (Koren Aluko) Preston 1-1 Crewe Rochdale 2-0 Exeter
So if we beat someone 3-0, and Erik has predicted a 3-0 defeat he's going to be penalised 5 points? (Yeah I've seen we've dropped it, I'm just being awkward now) EDIT: Obviously as we've done away with the scorers I'm having the 1-1 prediction, not the 27-27.

The following is a comment I made back at #652 "While we're on about 'extras' how about spicing things up and not permitting the same score twice in that weeks predictions, that would make for some interesting scores and also prevent people loading up the table with 'safe' 2-1's & 1-2's!" Know what I mean Elle!
I was waiting for someone to notice that all I ever pick is 2-1 or 1-2. It is probably the only reason I am still at the top of the rankings. To be fair under the current rules,,, I think I will stay with my strategy. My thought process is this. Odds are someone will win the game as less than 50% of games end in a draw. So picking any game as a draw is a bad idea. The trick is picking the right team to win. That I base off league standing, goals scored, and goal differential. Every team rounded up will score once per game. Since I can only pick a team winning and every team will score on average then games have to be 2-1 or 1-2 at the minimum. Odds are that no game will end with one side scoring more than 2 goals. So picking any game to have more than a 2 goal differential or more than 3 goals scored combined is a bad idea. This strategy is flawed in one way. Sometimes league standing, goals scored etc does not tell the whole picture. As I am not in a position to watch sky news, the football league show etc I have a disadvantage to knowing things that can not be found in a statistic so I have to base my predictions without this knowledge. I think that the reason I am at the top is not that my strategy is the correct one it is that my strategy is the correct one for someone in my position. The reason that others are not higher than me is that I tend to see score line predictions that do not follow a set of rules like I have outlined. Predictions of games with score lines like 4-2, 3-0 etc seem silly to me as how often are you really going to guess that score line correctly? I realise that there is a chance someone agrees with me and changes how they predict. It doesnt bother me, this is all in fun. I just have a mathematically inclined thought process with most things in life so this is how I approach it.
