I'll check whether it was that or Zulu Dawn but he was painted and only had a few seconds with no talking so he would have been uncredited.

Hi 33 born in Kingston, South London. Living in Epsom First game was away to C Palace in 90/91 season. cant remember my first home game though. Fave films The Castle, Pulp Fiction, snatch, lock stock, Dead Mans Shoes (british film, well worth a watch) and im sad to say I do like a super hero Ironman, Superman, Spiderman love all those films im just a big kid really. As far as series go, I loved Walking Dead but have not yet seen series 3, I also like Waking the dead (british CSI, sort of) I am currently watching homeland and this is well worth a watch. Also loved Heroes. (See I am a child)
Gibson is famous for his anti English films. The "Patriot " besides being rubbish as a film, is so biased and completely inaccurate that it is joke. Set during American Revolution his character is based loosely on Francis Marion a colonial guerilla leader in the Southern campaign. In the film he has no slaves (in real life quite a few), British burn churches but this false, only slight evidence is that maybe Loyalists (1/3 of pop) did this. In one scene he takes out a whole Brit Column by himself, cock and bull. The audience is the huge US market so honesty is not important as the same for Braveheart. Gibson was never in Zulu. The 24th are a Welsh reg and their homebase is Breacon. They still may have had a lot of English in the reg such as "Hook" who won the VC. The famous song at the end has its words changed for the film. Hollywood entertains for the mass , so historical accuracy is the last thing on it's list.
Spurf,the 24th Regiment of foot later became the South Wales Borderers. A programme was doing the life of Gibson and he appeared only for a few seconds as a Zulu. I'll find it if you think I'm wrong.
It became the SWB in 1881 after Rourke's Drift. Maybe not SD but I know what I saw and heard. It was certainly Gibson.

While you can understand they have to alter things for dramatic reasons I have never liked it when they completely distort the facts in what is supposed to be an historical film. It's often how the Americans won the war stuff. Example: Inigma; the Americans captured the machine which helped with code breaking!!!! Really! Braveheart: The battles depicted were shown with the tactics switched WHY? The affair with princess was complete invention she would have been about 5 years old at the time. Great Escape: Steve Mcqueen an American escaping on the motorbike NO! and on and on.
Was it filmed in Australia then? Gibson didn't leave there until after Mad Max, he studied at stage school in Sydney and his first film was some Aussie thing called Summer City in 77, 2 years later he got the lead in Mad Max. It wouldn't surprise me if he gave himself a Hitchcock style cameo in one of his films he directed himself though.
I'm 56 and have been a Spurs fan since as long as I can remember. He was 12 and I was 11 - not sure whether that would be allowed by parents today. I spent my career in the electricity industry but now work in financial services trading pwoer and gas - hence my user name. I've enjoyed hundreds of films over the years - a few to mention - Straw Dogs, the Usual Suspects, Se7en, Twelve Monkeys, Alien, ET, Don't Look Now. Currently very keen on Homeland on TV (and the Vampire Diaries - not just for the totty, honest).
