Ince and sturridge would definately strengthen the team in my opinion. Seems silly we let ince go, but hey what the fcuk he's only 19 and left cause he believed he was good enough for the first team. So was Klasnic now at Fulham.

There was no issue with Ince's attitude at all, he didnt want big money, he just wanted 1st team involvement, he knew he wasnt gonna get it at LFC, so he run down his contract and left on a free, i suspect he would have earned more in LFC reserves ( they offered him a new deal ) than at Blackpool

As far as his career goes, that was 1000% the correct decision for him.

I agree with RHC I think/suspect Sturridge and Ince will sign for LFC in January and possiibly in the 1st week. I would say £10m for Sturridge and £5m for Ince

It makes me cry. Are we reduced to buying chavski cast-offs and arrogant little ****s we were once glad to see the back of? All we need now is Walcott on £100,000 a week to prove our transfer policy is still laughably pathetic.

I all the chatter today is based on the Daily Fails theory that Rodgers wants to see the back of Pepe. So we are either buying Butland or the ex-manc from Hanover. I understand wanting Butland for the future, but the lad would be daft to join us to be Pepe's understudy, only playing 5 times a season. He is better off where he is, or joining the mancs, since they don't even have a decent keeper at the moment, what with Lama boy and Ladygarden.

    1. where do guys see ince playing? left of the 3 with sterling right? we bascially let ince and silva and alex k go cos sterling and suso were the ones to make it. The others would wither o nthe vine if we didn't let them go so i think fair play to ince for making it..... remember we got the "great" charlie adam by letting ince to to blackpool... another marvellous use of youth. We got paul bloody knochesky for alex k.

perhaps we can put sterling in the deal for carroll so west ham do actually pay 17mil for the guy.

    ridiculous.

    2. if RHC's mate says its on then it may be on but at this point LFC is once again leaky as a sieve and its sheer unprofessionalism. our team for udinese will be known today by all and sundry.. our transfers are known and our league team will be out by friday. Under rafa you never knew WTF he was doing.

    3. sturridge? 12mil? the boy has had two goes at big clubs and done the same thing now... he'll spit the dummy here and everyone should know it... whos going to buy him off us when he does? arsenal? 12mil is a good price mind... again if you buy him where does ince go? u21?

    seems a bit pointless...

All I can tell you MITO is that we have had inter-club discussions with both of the clubs concerned. 6 mill was mentioned for Ince, nothing for Sturridge and there's no saying either will happen. He hasn't had wind of any other talks up to press.

    what about this one.

Darren Bent is reportedly closing in on a January loan to Liverpool after being axed by Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert for the home draw with Arsenal.

The striker, 28, was available after missing three games with an ankle problem but Lambert instead preferred rookie Jordan Bowery as his back-up forward for Saturday's 0-0 stalemate with the Gunners.

Now Liverpool, who are in desperate need of extra firepower, are believed to already be in negotiations with Villa over taking Bent on loan until the end of the season with a view to making the move permanent in the summer.

    ......................

this is a hail mary and its i nthe metro to boot....

It sounds like you can confirm that at least someone at lfc is actually doing some perparatory works. ince has a 25% sell on cluase for us so i hope city come in with a 500 mil bid cos we really need to give newkie more moeny before they get relegated.

Here.... whats this i hear of the press winding us up with talk of a SWAP for ba and carroll.. thats like saying here have 35mil for nothing, you can have the crock with the bad knees instead of torres... (crock with no hammys)

    Think that's a little pessimistic.

    - Rafa happened before Twitter exploded into life. Unfair to compare now. It's the nature of the beast.
    - The Ince thing is unfortunate, we could have handled it better, but again, that's how it goes. You can't guess them all right. Ince made the best choice for him and fair play.
    - City never really gave Sturridge a chance; Chelsea did with AVB and he was brilliant. He has big flaws in his game but he can score goals.

Don't you think that as a club, we would show a little more dignity over the Ince affair? There are other players out there, he is only one of many who could do a job, so why draw attention to the fact that you let him go for free by buying him back again for £5M?

If Liverpool was a schoolgirl, they would be on the Internet flashing their fledgling tits <doh>

  11. Two big clubs...?

He's played for three clubs; Man City, Bolton and Chelsea.

He was at Man City before the massive amounts of money was pumped in, they were not a big club at the time. He did well when he played too. Bolton is Bolton but he did very well for them. The only big club he has played for is Chelsea who have not really given him a chance.

I am not a Sturridge fan and I don't want us to sign him, but at least be reasonable when making a comment about a player! <doh>

If the stories were true in the summer: that BR wasn't confident enough in Sturridge to buy him before loaning him: what has changed?

If its desperation then what the hell did we hire City's scouts for? Are you telling me They've not come up with a better idea than BR had & wasn't 100% about since the summer?

I don't care about the circumstances surrounding how Ince went as that has happened in football & quite frankly paying an extra 5 million for someone we allowed away free pales in comparison with some of our other buys in the last two years. Not paying £20 million is an improvement.

As I said before if the players BR actually want are not available I'll not mind a couple of 5-6 million gambles but I balk at 12-13 million hopes...

The phrase "...are belived to already be in negotiations..." sounds suspiciously like "...in my warped, fevered imaginings as the copy deadline approaches I'm making all this up on a 2+2=15,404 kind-of-way..."

No 'a source close to the player/player's advisor/club', so I reckon its all bull.

Why would BR want a poacher/finisher with no recognisable skills or abilities (to link play, hold up the ball, etc.) beyond the obvious? If he did, wouldn't he have held onto Carroll instead? At least Andy had presence and could hold up play and disrupt CB's...

Ince would be a useful addition, but not a solution. As for Sturridge, I can't see him being a solution either...

Not exactly pocket change for an unproven player. Ngog was only £1.5mil and his performances for us were on a par with Sturridges' performances with Chelsea.

Is he any better? I haven't seen any proof of it on the pitch to date...

Dont compare their performances at Chelsea. Compare their performances at Bolton.

Suddenly you will see Sturridge is miles better than N'Gog.

I also believe Sturridge has been better for Chelsea than N'Gog was for us. Sturridge had some decent goal stats for last season considering he was largely a sub.

I think that given the comparison, we will be little better off in footballing terms buying Daniel than if we'd kept David, and certainly in financial terms, much better off...

I know we need a striker in January, but would it be better to wait to get this man on a free??

N'Gog struggled to even get PL games for Bolton. Sturridge was a big hit there.

N'Gog is now a Championship player.

Sturridge is miles ahead. I dont even think they are worth comparing this much.
