sausage and mash was a cataclysmic failure.

mash was like ****ing porridge. think i overcooked the pots, they were all grainy, exactly like porridge. dunno how, i usually make killer mash. needless to say, i threw it in the bin and just had the sausages.

It's a good chilli, I just prefer mine with more tomato, so use a tin of chopped tomatoes and passata and half a tube of purée. I also use fresh chillis as well as well as hot chilli powder and cayenne pepper. And a good glug of red wine.. I like to use sweet Romano peppers too.

Try ruffs first then on the next one I will put a full version of mine up.. <ok>

Just done mine, had to make do with dried herbs and some fresh basil.
The oregano grows in my garden but its died off now so buggered for using it.

Tastes pretty good even now but I felt it was missing something so chopped up a pepper and added that. Then remembered I didn't have any kidney beans in sauce so used plain in water, that chilli sauce in the tin clearly adds something then!

    Will eat tomorrow.

Washing down me tea with cheeky Sauvignon Blanc I found in the fridge. She must have won it in the Christmas fayre tombola, tidy.

I'm planning on growing a herb garden next spring..

Thinking rosemary, lemon thyme, oregano don't really use any others.

Thyme is a bugger as you only get one year out of it but the others come back, rosemary stays all year long. Got some mint which is always there and got sage which is also always there.
    Use them all really.

I'd never use mint or sage.. Only time I use mint is in mojitos and I've only ever done that once at a BBQ.

    Mint sauce with lamb?

Sage goes well with sausages and pork so worth having about. It's in one of the beds amongst the plants, minding its own business.
