Bramble, Campbell and McFadden get Sunderland run-outs James McFadden in action today Published on Monday 3 December 2012 19:23 TITUS Bramble, Fraizer Campbell and James McFadden all completed a much-needed 90 minutes today as Sunderlandâs Under-21s secured the biggest win of Kevin Ballâs stewardship. Sunderland are allowed to field three over-age players in their development squad and the trio, who were all on the bench for Sundayâs defeat at Norwich City, took the chance to boost their match sharpness during a 4-1 win over Stoke City at the Academy of Light. Centre-half Bramble enjoyed his first competitive action since returning to training a fortnight ago after shaking off a hip problem. Striker Campbell, who has been restricted to brief outings from the bench for the first team this season, got on the scoresheet, while Bosman arrival McFadden strongly pushed his claims for a Sunderland debut before his short-term deal expires in January. hes got to be better than McClean
Well roger I hope we do give him a run out in the first team. Maybe in the cup he may turn out to be a good addition
I'm not the biggest fan of McFadden, but I'm not averse to him being given a run out to see if he still has it.
Is this McFadden lad any relation to the A.Trialist who played for us in the reserves a couple of months ago??
McFadden isnt a bad footballer but he isnt the long term answer either. That said, in the current climate he would get a shout over McClean for me....and 40,000 others probably. I'd like to see him play on Saturday for some part of the game.
Which other 40,000 would he get a shout over as well???!! Sorry Cest - couldn't resist!! Have to agree - McClean and Johnson have disappointed so far (Johnson has shown glimpses but not enough) - also looks scared of getting hurt - the Boro game was a prime example - into the box and all he had to do was get the ball first and he gets a penalty but he bottled the challenge - players like that are no good in a side battling for their lives - McClean at least won't pull out of a challenge!! So play McFadden somewhere and either McClean or Johnson
but do you really want johnson going all in for daft challenges and getting injured?? our squad is already very thin, last thing i want is for another injury..
