Have I been sleeping more than usual? but ticket prices seem to have jumped for the Brighton game by 22%ish... when did this happen??

Will my season ticket (for next season) go up by 22% as well?

Perhaps Ricky wasn't doing such a bad job after all?

    Umm??

    <cheers>

Brighton and Ipswich prices were increased a few months back.

Are they the sort of price rises we can expect next season I wonder?

I think you're going down the right path. This could be them testing out the market elasticity. It could be because they anticipate these fixtures to be busier due to the holidays and are justing chasing a bit more capital to feed TJ's family.

They were raised at the same time prices for other matches (I think Barnsley and Peterborough) were reduced. Don't worry. Everitt takes credit for this too.

Possibly a nod towards dynamic pricing

This is nothing new at Charlton. When we were in the premier league prices used to vary wildly. When we were at home to Chelsea it was £45:00 for one match(which didn't sell out), but tuesday matches against the likes of Blackburn could be as low as £10:00. Funnily enough there was never much publicity for these prices.

I can live with dynamic pricing as long as the football shows the same standard of dynamism. :emoticon-0105-wink:

You want the club to rename to Dynamo Charlton?

I guess it would fit with the reputation :)

I think I'd prefer Atletico Charlton

    I'd prefer Bobby Charlton.

That way we can claim we won the world cup :D

Can dynamic pricing be our new club motto?

I see the Cup tickets against Udders have been dynamically reduced to £15 but they don't expect to sell many and have closed half the ground <laugh>

Completely agree. I won't be troubling the statisticians I'm afraid. I wonder if the FA set a minimum price.

I don't think so, but the two clubs have to agree on the price.

They certainly did up to a couple of seasons ago - first two rounds were ten quid minimum, third round fifteen quid minimum, fourth twenty quid - that cup takes a lot of polishing...:emoticon-0105-wink:

Whatever's left after the FA's cut and the Plod Premium is split 50:50.

We already have one of the cheapest season ticket prices, the cheapest out of the three south London clubs. Last March, when I renewed at league one price, I assumed that for 2013/2014 season, they'd be around £325 for North Stand, which seems to be more in line with the other two.

22% increase, what's that on £15-20? An additional £3 on the ticket?

I think the standard price for NU is £18 so £18+ 22% = £21.96 or the £22 that they are charging for Brighton <ok> That would make a season ticket for NU next season @£300 less any Valley Gold discount :)

I got off the phone to the ticket office a short while ago and am now extremely miffed. My ST is in the West Upper Block Q and most of the seats are normally empty. I wanted to purchase five additional seats for my row (where there is only four ST holders in total), or the row behind, but I can't.

The remainder of seats in Q have been given out to schools in the local area. The lady at the ticket office said that I should buy five the tickets for R block and hope that some of the kids and their parents don't turn up in Q. Or, and this is true, I can orchestrate a re-seating plan on the day, whereby I ask freebie-ticketholders to move to other areas.

    Utter madness.

That's abysmal behaviour from the club. They must know that there are barely any punters where you sit. At the least they should have contacted you to tell you what is going on and give you the chance to decide to sit elsewhere. Even if you buy your normal ST seat you will be surrounded by hordes of kids. Not funny. And poor customer care.

It really is poor, Jimbo. I now have to decide whether to buy the five tickets for another block, or tell my two friends and their three excited kids that there is no point going on Saturday.

But there is no way I'm going to act as an usher and tell a bunch of people I don't even know where to sit.
