"I never wanted to leave Hull..."

Yeah, only because nowhere else would pay you £25k a week. Why would he want to leave when he has another 2 years of that money... <laugh>

    "Hell"

Doubt it, he'll have gone home laughing every week knowing he was one of the highest paid players at the Club without doing anything.

Fair play to him though, he's really come on this year. Still got his 2/3 mistakes per game in him, but he's looking more solid.

This is the same article as the last one, just wildly spun by you.

Money isn't everything. It's not hard to see why he considers the last two years his worst. Left out the team by an egotistical madman seemingly hell bent on raping our club, all whilst being Hull City's first ever player to get worse every game he didn't play.

Why people think it's acceptable to treat people like **** for no reason just because they're earning s lot is beyond me.

I will concede to having not read the article and probably foolishly taken agros spin on it at face value. He may not be a ****.

More importantly, he says he wants to stay here and play out his prime at the KC.

We'll see if he still fancies doing that on a quarter of his current wage.

Good point, if he does take the pay cut, then fair play to the lad, but I'm not holding my breath...

For once I'm in total agreement with TWF - footballers want to play, and if they're not playing it's going to get depressing, and no amount of money can make that right.

It's totally unfair to throw his high wages in his face when he has always been totally committed to the club. If anything, the way he talks in this interview PROVES that he is one of the players who actually cares about things other than money and bling.

Especially when he keeps the hair.

If I was ginger and had that sort of money I'd pay for some sort of reconstructive surgery.

And before anyone says it, dye isn't permanent enough.

maybe worst two years of his football career would have been a better way of putting it.

Everythings relative. Money doesn't buy happiness. I can imagine having a **** 2 years at work would be quite hellish. Whatever industry you work in.

Exactly, unless he had a horrible childhood it's hardly an outrageous claim.

Probably the last 2 years, worrying whether he will get another contract as good as the last one.

He WILL have to take a paycut for his next contract, there is literally no question about that. No club in the world will offer him the same terms he is on now and Im sure Paul knows this. The question is how much of a cut and will we even offer him a deal? I'd suggest he'll be looking at the very least earning just 50% of what he is now.

I think we will offer him a new deal but like you say will be at most 50% of what he is on now

But surely, if he is just reaching his peak, as he says, he must warrant a pay rise.<whistle>
