Man City once again ripped a new one as they are booted out of Europe and haven't won a game in their group this season. Borrusia looked better all over the pitch. Arsenals younguns again found wanting. Sky always seem to be trying to get foreign players, who play in the Prem, to say this is the best league in the world. But is it? I do enjoy watching the Prem, but is that more a case of checking out the opposition?
Everytime the Ballon d'Or nominations come round Scudamore and co are probably hiding under their desks
Said before I'm on overkill with watching football. But I have caught a few games on ESPN. What impresses me is you are more likely to see team play in the German league.
I'd say technically the foreign leagues are better. Just look at City's group, one German, one Spanish and one Dutch - they finished last. The only problem for me is that I often find some of the foreign games boring. I'd say that the Prem is the most exciting, but for beautiful football, it doesn't come close.
Sums it up for me. It's not the highest standard league, but it is the most competitive and watchable.
Already said by many but the EPL is a very average standard league technically but can produce some cracking games and results. Must be the richest league in world football when the bottom team can earn £40m from tv money. If the money were to stop, all we would be left with the would be the best paid set crap players and a technically poor league.
I love watching the PL and even Championship games - most of them I can watch Have watched the Televised games and via the internet from the Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian leagues and, barring a couple of teams I get bored watching them. I can happily watch any game in the English PL and 90% of games in the Chamionship - yet I only enjoy about 10% of games from the other countrys
Best to watch no doubt but nowhere near the best standard anymore. This season, good defending has been non existent. Obviously because of the pace it is not the prettiest either. I watch a bit of Bundesliga and it is defo on the rise, not least in terms of atmosphere in the stadiums. The standing areas do no harm in that regard of course.
