In our history, we have only spent a few seasons in the third tier of English football, and were still pulling in crowds of 30,000 +. Attendances have dropped, ONLY because of Ken Bates. Thats why Leeds fans have been boycotting Elland Road. By the end of the season, we will be drawing 30k every match day.

I don't blame you for being scared of Leeds, especially with the takeover happening. We have been absolutely awful this season, and we are only 5 points behind you...

A lot of "back in the 90's", "when we used to" and then finishing off with optimistic thoughts for the future. I think it's a really, really hard pill to swallow for you lot that you just aren't ever going to be the team you once were. You're a 2nd tier Club at best I'm afraid.

 

Ellen, you're still in denial, the leeds that lost half its fans when it fell out of the top flight has gone, liquidated. Todays Leeds is a 6 year old franchise. You may as well claim Glasgow Rangers or Wimbledon's records. They've as much connection to todays leeds as the one you watched in the 80's.

Yep, you're only five points behind us despite our long and painful history. Perhaps if the rules had been bent for us to enable us to start higher up the league structure than we should have done, things may have been different, but they aren't. So being five points behind despite a bump up and coming from a much bigger one team City is really piss poor by anyones standards.

 

Absolutely, we have played like a poor second tier football club since our promotion 2 years back, BUT there is no point in winning trophies or leagues unless you can brag about it. Yeah, it was 20 years ago, but I still remember it, and I aspire and dream that We will be back in the big time soon enough. It really was a magical time...

I'm not saying you definitely won't make a return to the Premier League at some point. IMO, it depends on how your new owners run the Club and how much they're going to be willing to spend to get you there. You have to concede at the moment though, that Hull City are the most likely Yorkshire Club to earn a return to the top-flight?

 

As we speak, absolutely. After the January transfer window, who knows?

 

It will be an interesting window for both Clubs. Could make or break both of our Seasons. I'm pretty sure the Allams will give Brucey what he wants though. They want us back up there.

So has the Leeds T/O actually happened now or is it at the end of the Season? As in, will you have funds available in January because I've heard rumours to support both sides of it.

 

I hate to say it DMD but you really do come across as a bit of a prick. Now I've been out in Hull on a couple of occasions and can only assume that you do not act like a grade A assgoblin IRL due to the fact that no-one as vegetablised you yet.

The Humber Derby has lost it's credibility ever since Scumthorpe and Grimsby became ****. Grimsby are in the Blue Square Premier, I don't think that we're held in such high regard anymore.

Mind you, in the pre-season friendly, they brought next-to-full capacity.

 

The completion of the takeover I believe is the 21st December, Bates stays on til the end of the season, then he becomes president... President Bates 1st
