Last night there was a AGM meeting at the club and after there was a Q&A session with McGhee.

Someone on the OS forum has kindly posted some key points that McGhee came out with.....

    • Hunter and Elliot don't get more gametime because they don't show enough in training.
    • Parkes has shown in training that he can play left midfield, is a goalscorer, the best header & crosser at the club.
    • Riordan scored all his Hibs goals from wide on the left and that where he prefers to play.
    • He accepts that Riordan has not shown enough so far.
    • Discipline is not a major problem but McGhee was annoyed by Kenneth's sending off.
    • Norburn and Clucas were signed as 'ones for the future' and were not expected to feature this early in the first team.
    • He has been trying to sign a central midfielder since the summer, but players won't come to us if it means moving home, they prefer to stay up north with plenty of options within travelling distance.
    • He was going to mention those who rejected us but the directors stopped him naming names.
    • He expects to make signings in January after releasing some players out of contract to give him room.
    • He has plenty of contacts who feed him info on players.
    • Virgo is no longer a first choice CB and hasnt been fit when he has had to play.
    • We can score enough goals home and away to stay up.
    • We will stay up no problem.
    • He has never walked away from a job and won't start now.

    Thoughts??

The only point I agree with is...

Virgo is no longer a first choice CB and hasnt been fit when he has had to play.

The rest is a load of bollocks

Under the present circumstances I'm only interested in two of the bullet points.

We can score enough goals home and away to stay up.
We will stay up no problem.

We're in the deep **** so once our league status is secure then's the time for an inquest into how we have sunk so ****ing low.

Good post CJ,fair play he does not seem to duck the difficult questions especially about lack of midfielders who wish to join us Rhiordan not shown enough so far and current midfielders for the future.

Shows why he has extended W Browns contract hobsons choice.

If he is to make signings in Jan what positions will they be in (assume Goal and midfield poss attack)?

These players will be out of contract by Jan 2013

1 August 2012 - Defender Cian Bolger on loan until January (Loan Injured)
27 Sept 2012 - Striker Tom Eaves joins (Loan)
27th Sept Derek Rhiordan joins on a short term deal until Christmas (Loan)
22 November 2012 –Branston joined on a month long loan (Loan)

Assume he also wishes to release Virgo,Anyinsah,Richards and possibly Gill View attachment 19397 this would free up some cash to attract some decent players through the door.I dont think that Scott Bevan will play for the club again perhaps they will pay his contract up and release him.

He has already stated that he wishes to sign Bolger <ok>on a perm deal,we need a decent perm goalkeeper, perhaps he will let Rhiordan go,Eaves hopefully will re sign for the rest of the season that leaves a striker and at least one midfielder required again if no one will join us on a perm deal then he will probably go into the loan market.

I like his positive statement that we will not go down. View attachment 19398

Anyone see the chairmans report today on the OS about this AGM meeting?

    Higgs said...
I may be wrong but is he hinting at getting rid of the OS fans forum?? Or is he just saying communications will only be at AGM meetings and not via Brian Seymour-Smith?

Did you notice that the cleansing of the Forum came the day after the AGM?

Probably the end of the OF I reckon; it just causes too many problems. I think they thought it would help by being able to point out inaccuracies/blatant lies but have realised they cannot stop/manage the waves of posts at all times of the day and night! When they have tried to by deleting posters and threads it looks like they are trying to censor people when the reality as an official forum all posts reflect directly on the club. Think they're better off with places like this existing and if they see people posting lies/defamatory comments/liabellous comments etc either pointing out the errors or reporting to mods.

I would be shocked if they do get rid. I would imagine there would be a lot of uproar from a lot of posters if they do get rid of the forum.

It makes me laugh what he says about hunter not showing enough in training.........but when he plays for the youth he's scoring nearly all the time.......i say play him...if he fails take him off....simple. :emoticon-0126-nerd:

Agreed its not going to hurt playing him at least give the kid the first half of a game to see what he can do also they should give the a chance to some of the other up and coming youngsters not all at the same time but gradually otherwise there's no point in even having a youth team.

some players just dont train well but play great in where it matters. i think he needs a chance. the opposition wouldnt know too much about him so can surprise to them. i still think MM is stopping hunter playing due to hunters tweet.

A closure date would be much more amusing! Imagine the threads, "Who can write the most offensive post?" etc etc...would be loads of fun!!
