Simple, we will beat Norwich. Another fact all teams below us are worse, the reason for this is that we have more points than them and they are below us, don't believe me then go and take a gander at the table, it doesn't lie!

I watched Norwich yesterday and in fairness to them they looked good for 45mins but shakey when Sunderland started putting on the pressure, a bit like us actually !! they favour the ball into the channels and rangel and ben davies will be getting a very stern test on saturday!! Norwich are a good team but they have their faults just like us!

Our movement will cause them problems and it will be harder for them to organise if we can move it fast, Brenden always played into Lamberts hands by not playing on the counter or hitting the occasional long pass, Laudrup will mix it up enough for us to get our chances, i see a high scoring game with us just about sneaking home. 3-2 to the swans.

I must also add that Norwich are also a different team from last season, i think cris hughton has done really well, i wont be suprised if he is more conserative in his approach and tries to play us on the break, norwich really like to use the channels and we have changed our game to go through the middle,it may make for a really thrilling game

The other factor is that its typical swans to go to Arsenal and win then lose to Norwich at home...thats the swans in a nutshell!! hope Laudrup is onto this !! <cheers>

And IF my aunty had balls she'd be my Uncle. IF is a very big word which counts for **** all.

Regarding Arsenal being at full strength, on Saturday we were missing Michel Vorm, Neil Taylor, Pablo Hernandez and Wayne Routledge - and we turned over one of the top sides in Europe on their own patch in a 60,000 seater stadium.

But come on we were lucky that Arsenal were tired mate, they must not sleep in London between games ;) and we played 3 games last week the same as them, its just excuses these guys are athletes for god's sake they should be able to play a full game everyday

I wonder how these players would manage working 7 days a week 12hr shifts for 4-6 weeks ?

What do they do everyday? come into training about 9/10am **** off at around 1pm

play 90mins of football on the weekend, rest the next day and streach exercise, light train the day after that ..all sounds a piece of piss to me TBH.

Oh, i forgot ! and earn anywhere from 20k to 200k a week in wages !!...<laugh>

Tiredness is a lame excuse im afraid to say.

Footballers as a demographic group are not the sharpest knives in anybody's draw. The numbers don't lie. This season the structure of the Prem with resect to point distribution and variance within the league is similar, mean point is similar, points earned per game by position is the same ... The league is the same. If the league had dumbed down as you suggest the point distribution would be different and it is not. I don't care if you're quoting God, if he's not running the numbers he's wrong.

I'm genuinely shocked and encouraged by this- if all your fans are this expectant the atmosphere will be terrible and we might have a chance of winning.

Sadly, I doubt this is the case- we've got on with Swansea fans enough to know they're a little different to QPR.

Trust me, there is no way this game is going to end 5-2. For starters, I'd be very surprised if we score two... Secondly, we're a completely different team to that which lost to Fulham and Liverpool.

I think most Norwich fans are expecting a 1-0 or 2-0 loss. We will have the chance to nick a draw I imagine, but probably fall short. The only way you'll score 3 or more goals is if Bassong and Tettey are injured and then we have a defensive horror show (not impossible!) you guys were absolutely fantastic on Saturday and Michu is the signing of the season, but you still don't have a better attack than Man U or Everton, so as long as we play our normal defensive game, we won't concede more than two and even then you'll have to play well. Also, with our players having had a week's rest, we wont gift as much to you as we did Sunderland -you're better than them so you'll still create plenty, but don't expect those gilt edged chances on a plate! I suspect with home advantage you'll crack our defence and unfortunately our glorious run will probably come to an end... But I doubt many Norwich fans will be too begrudging! Disappointed of course.

So here's hoping Chico gets sent off in the third minute!

Good luck for the rest of the season Swans, great team to watch at the moment, keep it up!

I said I think we will thump you if we play the same starting line up as we did against WBA. We started with all 3 of our wingers for that game (the only game we have done so) and for the 1st half we totally dominated them, scored 3 goals, and left them chasing shadows.

You said yourself we were fantastic on Saturday, but against Arsenal we were missing 2 of our best attacking players in Hernandez and Routledge. If they are back from injury and we play with all 3 wingers as we did against West Brom then you will be in for a shock.

For the last few games Hernandez has been getting most of the plaudits on here over Michu, which should give you some idea on how influential he has been for us.

will i or won't i, that is the question. is the premier league stronger than 10 years ago, of course it is, not all the so called legends are gong to the top 4 (so called) clubs, no wonder the smaller clubs are starting to compete with the best, for once Dai, wake up and smell the roses. i now EXPECT us to beat the like of Newcastle, Liverpool and draw v man utd, IF we play to our potential

ivoralljack, I think you are exaggerating a bit on Ki. A bit harsh really. Did you see him making these so many stupid mistakes until he got injured? Absolutely not. Was Ki one of the most consistent player on the pitch until he got injured? Yes. Didn't swans played Liverpool, WBA, and Arsenal and conceded only 2 goals and secured 7 pts from them since Ki returned from injury? Yes.

Conclusion: He cameback from injury, not up to his very best, but performing fairly well against one of the best teams in the league and was one of the best players on the pitch against WBA. Form is temproaroy, class permanent.

You mentioned that Ki is great when everything goes great. Don't you think Ki is one of the players who make things go great?

I see your point though. He needs to add some degree of urgency in his play, and that would be perfect.

Don't misunderstand me. I have taken pains to point out that I think he is a very good player. However, he does have his flaws - the ones I mentioned. When Tevez scored against us for Manchester City, it was Ki who failed to track him effectively and allowed Tevez time to pull the trigger, which he did.

There have been other examples of this when he has failed to track back after losing the ball and he has been certainly guilty of giving the ball way through sloppy passing in dangerous areas.

I do rate Ki and think he will be a great player for us but there are aspects of his game that he does need to work on. True of any player, of course. And that is the secret of managerial success. Laudrup will have noticed these things and you can bet that he and the other coaches will be working with Ki to eradicate his weaknesses, as they will with the other players (young Ben's right foot for example). When Ki does this and adds more "oomph" to his game, he will be an excellent player for us.

If I have learned one true fact about football it is never to blindly trust opinions of so called experts. And this question in particular is open for debate. If you think that whether or not the prem is worse or not this season can be answered by a simple look at the performance of the big clubs then you're wrong. There are so many factors involved to consider before one can conclude anything and I doubt anyone has truly spend time finding out and even so it would still very much be a subjective opinion.

Brilliant! As I said, I hope all your fans are this excessively confident. It's when we are at our best.

If you play to your best, you will thump us. And a thumping will be 2-0. That's a heavy defeat for us since we've had a settled squad. We've not conceded more than one goal in a match since Chelsea on October 6.

As I said, it will take a catastrophe in defence from us for you to score any more than that, nothing to do with how good your attack is.

You know So'ton supporters were convinced they were going to score 4 or 5 against us? They got one (very) lucky goal.

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to win this and it certainly won't be a shock, but I am simply astonished that you have not even looked at Norwich's form. Your attack is not better than Man U's. I don't think it's much better than So'tons either.

Also, since when did having one specific player on the pitch automatically equal a win?

If you have read the thread in its entirety, Rob, you will see that the great majority of us think this will be a tough game. Yes, we are also quietly confident because we deserve to be given our recent form. But we are also mindful of Canaries' good form and the fact that you have done well against us in the past.

My own view, which I believe is realistic, is that our "A" game is the better of the two and that we should win what will be a tight game. Sunderland gave you all sorts of problems in the second half and were unlucky not to get a draw. We are a lot better than them. Come to that, Manchester United don't frighten us either. Not right now in any event.

In summary, I think we will win but if we fall off our game your lot are well capable of getting a result.

I completely agree with you - although as I said in my first post, don't expect us to gift you chances like we did to Sunderland in the second half because we won't be exhausted like we were on Sunday due to the congested fixtures. We were very poor and Hughton will have given them a roasting. Not that you'll need the gifts anyway!

I have read the thread and I do note that most of you are along the same lines - I was just interested that Stid was so confident and, as I said, hoped more of you were that sure!

I'm looking forward to this - should be our first real challenge for a while!

Rob, I am not being 'excessively confident' just basing my opinion on how well we played against West Brom and as Ivor says i seem to be in the minority :). If we play to that standard again with the same line up though then I stand by what I say and we will thump you.

I dont think you realise how well we played in that first half against West Brom, it was probably the best football I have ever seen the Swans play, and most on here agree, have a look back at some of the threads on page 3 and see the after game comments such as this thread.

    http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/181821-What-a-smashing-performance-!!

There were also a number of press articles raving about the game, my favorite being this one

    This bit I particularly liked

The Swans were so impressive they have the full first half of the game on the Swans Player

Trust me Stid, I know exactly how well you played. I said as much above.

I also clearly said that if you played that well you would indeed thump us.

My point was, however, that a thumping would be 2-0. That would be a heavy defeat by our standards.

We're not as bad defensively as you seem to think. There is simply no way you will create five goals unless we have a defensive nightmare.
