Do you like the book The War of the Worlds? How about Queen Thunderchild? Plus, it has a similar fate to the other mentioned ships so would fit in nicely with your Republican views!
Also, Celeste would make me think of one half of Daphne and Celeste, which would not be good at all!!!!
But alot of tourists come here because they are fascinated by the Monarchy That's a big Tourism point right there
Republicans would gladly take our history and throw it into the bin simply to make themselves feel better and to give more power to a politician/senator.
Plus, could a president unite the country in the way the Queen's Jubilee or Royal Wedding did? Noooooooooo.
Come on lads I can't defend republicanism against the forelock tuggers all by myself. At the moment I am feeling a bit like Wenger. He knows he is dam well right but nobody agrees with him.
Well yes, but that was once in a life time and Royal Weddings and Jubilees are still very much unifying. Though I have to say, the Olympics and Paralympics were incredible. Definitely the highlight since 2009.
Some Londoners weren't happy though were they? Nor some of the North, nor some in Weymouth, you can't please all the people all of the time. Republicans should value the free vote though, monarchists value freedom of speech, I do ,some republicans on this forum however...
Welcome to my World, giving ones opinion, I have never been one to gloat though, you have every right to shout for whatever you believe.
I'm with you on this, Godders. When I saw the news yesterday, I have sadly had to embark on a self-imposed ban on reading the newspapers and watching the news. Got better things to do with myself than reading and watching eight months or so (and then the rest) of all that.
I agree with you Godders and TSS, the royals are a pointless bunch of scroungers. Prince Charles owns most of the farmland round my way and his tenants are all struggling to pay their rents. When we last had a republic in this country things didn't go far enough, and the Diggers and Levellers were surpressed, which was a great pity, as this may have meant the royals never came back again. Anyway, back to the OP, I am afraid teaching the new royal baby to play football would mean they came into contact with common people, which would surely never do. Better to stick with the traditional royal pursuits of shooting peasants, riding on the backs of the poor, and fishing for media attention.
no, like obama, he would spend ££££££££££££££££££££££'s on golfing holidays 7 or 8 times a year.
I'm with Godders on this.. Another non contributing mouth for the rest of us to feed. 7 more months of yawning, fawning news of how pointless the whole exercise is. Back to Godder's original question, no he/she will not be a professional football, it will be one of it's only disadvantages that it is unlikely to go to a school where the major winter sport is football..
Hi Bazza nice to see you! I'm with Godders, I'm a republican and a socialist to boot. I would like to live in a society where everyone has a reasonable life, not one where a large majority have to have a miserable one so that a small % can have way more than they will ever need.
what happened the last time we had a republic? our "saviour" turned into a tyrant and after what... 15 years? we were so desperate for the monarchy back, his son and successor fled the country and order was restored.
