Here is a breakdown on the last 5 seasons on teams who finished 23rd and got relegated. 2007/08 Mansfield finished 23rd on 42 points. 2008/09 Chester finished 23rd on 37 points. 2009/10 Grimsby finished 23rd on 44 points. 2010/11 Lincoln finished 23rd on 47 points. 2011/12 Hereford finished 23rd on 44 points. Looks like 48 points is needed to be sure we stay up. So far we have 18 points from 20 games. If we stick to current form meaning get another 18 points from our next 20 games then we will be on 36 points from 40 games. Then with 6 games left to play we would need 12 points from 18 available thats win 4 of the last 6 games I read this yesterday I think from Bluebaldee, what may save us is that there may be 2 ****ter teams than us. Currently Barnet and Aldershot are worse than us in the table and Wimbledon and Plymouth have the same amount of points as us. Out of those teams mentioned, we still to play Barnet, Wimbledon and Plymouth at home which may give us an advantage. We have Aldershot away on boxing day. Do you think we will reach 48 points? How many points do you feel we will end up on? Will it be enough to stay up when there are 4 other clubs just as bad as us and 2 go down?
50 points and we will struggle to get them. There's no single 'abysmal' team which is far worse than the others, so I think that it will go down to the wire. One thing's for sure, if we don't go on a run soon we will spend the rest of the season fighting relegation, and I haven't seen much evidence of fight in the majority of our squad.
