How have you all been? I hope well and good? The team were doing ok whilst away until recently, anyone at the Liverpool game will testify a lot of work needs to be done with a very tired squad. I have been on the Saints forum which has been interesting compared to this little beaut I can tell thee.
great to have you back. I think perhaps the team could have been rotated more but I would rather go into the game against Reading with a settled team than all the chopping and changing at the start of the season. Changing attacking players probably has less of a destabilising effect though. after the reading game we have 14 days break which comes at a good time for us imo.
Cheers Rabbit I have to missed coming on here, Saintsweb is ok to be honest though so will do a bit of both from now on, what concerned me on Saturday was how poor we were, this was West Brom Mark II, that was the worst I have ever seen Cork play and we still are far too nicer team.
Morning GMI! Did you go Saturday? I'm hoping that with a weeks break we will be back firing on all cylinders against Reading!
You have just said the only thing I think I have ever agreed with and that is: We are far too nice. I have started to call us the choir boys. When we played Norwich I said to the very lovely Mrs Godders this is like watching the local grammar school genteel swots playing the team of rough boys from the tough local secondary modern school. We need a bit of steel in the side. Having said all of that I am opening a book and I give you three days.
Hi GMI - hope that you are refreshed and got your sensible head on ! Agree that Jack Cork had his worst game for us on Sat - but he has been very good up until then and so hope that it was just an off day. Quite by chance i did actually get to speak to Cork after the game by the gates and he was a peeved about his performance and promises to be back firing on all cylinders on Sat v Reading. Seems a decent kid. Enjoyed the day in Liverpool - always loved the city and it hasnt changed.
I wont be on as much if that makes you happier, it was very quiet on this forum though with all this agreeing with each other, but then again I have always valued opinions, I suppose people must value mine to a certain extent as people always without fail reply, why would they do so otherwise?
Yes I did go, was right at the back, bonus was it was nice and warm there and also I could not see half the pitch seriously though it was a dire performnce but I shall be there if I can over the festive period and the United and Wigan games.
I expect to see your contributions on the transfer thread. Presume you still think we need a new defence?
Yes indeed, mild understatement for me, Gazzaniga is a very poor keeper at the moment and brings nothing to the team, potential is worth nothing if nothing is shown, the same could be said for the back four as well.
I think we all accept that our defence needs strengthening but we have shown definite signs of improvement so wholesale changes are not the way to go IMO.
