Skrtel could be a shout btw, but not that vocal. hardman no doubt. Lucas is probably the best shout. A likeable guy within the team as well. Johnson anyone???
I was going to mention GJ just because I think he's been so consistent lately. For me though it'd be Agger, Lucas, Pepe in that order
None of them really grab the team by the scruff, none are that vocal. But neither was Gerrard. He lead/leads with his play and Carragher did the mouth. I would have to say Lucas I suppose if he can stay fit. I think Reina has a large influence but i'm not too keen on keepers as captains.
I will throw in a controversial one. Jordan Henderson. Maybe more likely vice than captain. If I put a long order I will say: Lucas Skrtel Suarez Agger Reina Henderson Kelly You dont ned to be really vocal as captain. The most vocal captain I can think of is Jon Terry, who is a great captain. But some great captains are not that vocal. Thierry Henry, Fabrigas. Even Beckham can be the quiet type, though not always.
I respect your opinion. But no way would I have Henderson. He has little presence as a person or his ability on the ball. Could change when he reaches 28, but he probably won't be here then.
He captains the u21's. He likes to get up in the refs face. That is not so good. But I can see him as captain.

Like a lot of people have said.....it would have to be Lucas as captain.I would give Sktrel the vice captain as he will give a verbal slap like Carra when other players make mistakes while Lucas (Mr nice guy) to deal with the ref
I voted lucas but think i'd nearly change to pepe. I think we need to get away form the gerrard style of non captaincy. this lead by example rubbish is pointless. I've even half questioned gerrard's desire and beelif over the last 5 years and know for sure he never bought into hodgson who shuold have kicked his ass out of the captaincy. My view is Lucas and pepe understand fully rodgers football and will not only play it but will be the managers voice on the pitch. I do not beleive gerrard is anyones voice o nthe pitch frankly and i don't know really how much he buys into the current tactics. I do want a guy who's vocal, but is someone kids can look up to, someone who's not trouble nor gets into trouble and most importantly a high performer. Hyppia was a much better example of this than ANYONE in the past 10 years.... even alonso who ticks most boxes was not vocal enough to be the guy.
Lucas. I can see the Henderson call but Henderson needs to start imposing himself in games. Another shout is for Shelvey, he likes to lead the charge forward from midfield and he wears his heart on his sleeve
The jury's still out on whether Hendo will even be in the team in future. I hope he does well but I'm still not sure. The captain needs to be someone the rest can have faith in. I agree with mito that Sami was the best in recent years. I think giving the band to Stevie was a political move, though I think he has done a great job leading by example. Expanding on my earlier post: Agger, Lucas, Pepe for me.
