Leeds draw a lower percentage of fans from the area of the club than any other league club.

Maybe that's a consequence of being a new club? Perhaps when the new franchise is more established, the locals may take to it?

 

All pretty irrelevant really. Your argument is based on technicalities. The club is still based in Leeds, we're still Leeds United, and we've made absolutely no secret of our feelings towards bates tenure at Leeds United.

I personally don't see what the problem is. Wimbledon kicked up a fuss about owners moving their club for the sake of money. We kicked up a fuss over what bates has done to us for the sake of money and his own personal benefit. The only difference between the two is that Wimbledon no longer had a local football club to support. I'm sure if Leeds had been moved to another city then you'd have a point. Unfortunately, it's all hollow arguments to make yourselves feel better about supporting tinpot clubs.

 

As long as you accept what you've put means the Club you follow started in 2008 and everything before that was a totally seperate club that just happened to play at the ground the new club now rent.

I guess the feeble attempts at personal abuse show you've no argument to the main point people have highlighted that, as some on here try to deny, Leeds are in deed just footballs newest franchise.

I wonder if the new leeds will learn from the mistakes of the old liquidated club and not try to play with the big boys until they can do it on their own legitimate merits?

 

Or maybe the message "I was gifted this club, I didn't choose it out of a quest for glory" (I am paraphrasing) heavily implied that we're all glory hunting plastics who only support Leeds because they were once successful.

It's more that I don't have the energy to argue with a bore like you who won't give up until you get an "admission" that we're not a bigger club than Hull City. That's never going to happen because we ARE a bigger club than Hull City. Regardless of technicalities and any biased attempt to make yourselves sound like a better prospect, we have a larger fanbase, a bigger ground that's not a flat-pack rugby stadium, we have more potential for success, we have louder more passionate fans from all over the world and we've actually won plenty and gone close plenty more.

The inferiority complex is just so horrendously boring. Why don't you go bother Middlesbrough? They are in Yorkshire and don't have any real rivalries, why can't you go pester them and beg them to be your rivals? They also suffer from the same inferiority complex. It's a match made in heaven!

The only point I made is that Leeds is a franchise and only a few years old. Not one solitary part of your bottom lip poking, foot stomping waffle even tries to address it. You seem to prefer some imaginary issue I'm not even having.

I think the often overlooked fact in clever conversations like this one is that you're all discussing companies. Clubs transcend all these different companies/owners. The fans are the club, not the balance sheet or behaviours of a company!

 

Nope taff, I'm talking about the Club, the part of the whole thing that's got permission to be a member of the football league, the so called Golden Share. The very essence of what makes it a 'Club'.
