yeah 2 managers who recognized McShane was an accident waiting to happen. With our injury situation SB had limited choice ,so Macca shouldn't get his hopes up too high.
I'm all for a bit of Pearson-bashing but where exactly did he expect to be played? CB instead of Chester/Hobbs or RB instead of Rosenior? Yeah right.
The 3-5-2 formation suits him but with a fully fit squad, he would not be in the starting 11 if we played 4-4-2
Is it partly a confidence thing? He's always struck me as a player who almost tries too hard a lot of the time and wonder of that contributes to some of his howlers. Anyway, all credit to SB for getting the best out of him.
Even at the weekend Bruce was telling him to calm down during the game, can't knock the lad for his efforts but in a play-off final or suchlike with him at the back I would be ****ting bricks with him in the team.
Similar to Amos in a way that he can play well but you always sense there is a mistake waiting to happen. Amos has been replaced by Stockdale and I think McShane will be replaced by Hobbs
I think it was just the fact that he didn't even get a chance, most managers say right clean slate for everyone but NP is a prick as we know. Macca's doing well its hard to drop him, but if someone has a dip in form then we have options at centre half.
He's obviously right. I imagine many of Macca's friends were treat like **** by NP and it's left a bitter taste in the mouth. He made similar comments at the end of NP's first season. At the start of NP's first season Macca got MOTM a few times, then NP got rid of him and the myth started that he was an "accident waiting to happen". He's come back, played well and still the Pearson-sympathisers continue to peddle this myth. He's been our best defender this season, and I think he'll definitely be in SB's plans. Hobbs has got better every game he hasn't played and will probably go the same way as Cameron Stewart.
None of those players were here when NP came in though, and still Macca didn't get a chance. We had Solano Gardner Zayatte and Dawson as our back 4 to start the season.
Pearson had the defence sorted after a few months so really you can't fault him for that at all given the lunatics we had left from the Premiership like Zayette, wonder what he's up to (Zayette) these days.
erm excuse me but do you actually remember only 2 years ago we were in dire financial straits?? Solano who was a top pro came and played for peanuts.
some of you are coming out with the usual boo boy sh.te that has been bedevilled City going back many years. Macca is playing well and is making no more mistakes than anyone else in the team. The trouble with some of you lot is that you really WANT him to make mistakes ffs. WHhat a way to support a City player. Hang your heads in shame. He won us the game on Saturday didnt, or am I just imagining it?
