No Suarez due to the inevitable 1 match ban for the cards. Will we see Jonjo or Gerrard in the False 9? Or will we go with Morgan/Yesil possibly and gamble a bit? I say put Downing up there..........
No chance! One thing I would possibly think about is having the three of Pacheco, Enrique, and Suso in the same side. They are all good mates and think the chemistry would click straight away. Could Put Gerrard out wide or keep sterling there. Or even a front 3 of Pacheco, Enrique, Suso with Gerrard in the hole.
I would gamble a bit with the 3 Spaniards up top but I can see where the physicality ( apart from Enrique) could be an issue and where the likes of Shelvey and Gerrard higher up could do better. Think Morgan or Yesil might get a chance?
I'd put Gerrard in at F9. However, I reckon Rodgers will put Shelvey there with Joe Cole being introduced to a wide position.
Think it will be a false 9 but not sure who. One good thing is that Suarez will play on Thursday more than likely so that helps the chance of progress. Especially if Udinese put a reserve team out.
This, I for one, desperately want to progress in Europe. West Ham though, I think at best we will get a draw and with a false 9 thats even more likely.
The same. I want us to do well in the FA but I really want us to show some prominence in Europe again. Show we can get to a final again and that this team can make those leaps and bounds, outside of the prem. Will help bring players in I feel.
You could try sticking an ad on gumtree jobs. Striker wanted, good rates of pay. Must be able to work as part of a team as well as on own. Previous experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given. Fernando Torres need not apply.
No, no, no. Get it right, they don't play with strikers anymore, they're looking for a "false No. 9". He's recruited a neurologist today (straight up) he was at pains to point out that it wasn't a physcologist btw, as that's old hat. He's re-inventing the game
Who was that big Donkey with the pony tail then? Don't tell me he was a 'false No. 9'? Then again, come to think of it, he was a £35M false No. 9.
