....just been watching Robbie Williams singing "Candy" on the Graham Norton show and then youtubed it.
The chorus - "hey ho here we go" (very minimal poetic licence there) - and make up the rest yourselves.
If that isn't a song to get everyone singing, I've never heard one. I can even see the West stand singing along to that one.
My prediction - this will become a football song. We should claim it first!

I can see what you mean.

The Elmohamady tune (and that other cheesy one that Brighton sing about CMS, I think we stole it for McLean at one point too but the tune and words escape me) would both have been pretty gay before they were made into football songs.

Edit: I just can't get enough.

Gay? Damn.... back to the drawing board. Just seemed like one of those tunes that get people hopping. Maybe you're over-thinking it.

Good idea, but a hard tune to add words into for me. Someone else who's good at making songs up should give it a think though!

That's one ****e song. Sounds like an advert for Haribo.

    I see Amber Nectar came up with the following for The Ginga Ninja;

Paul Mcshane, you probably think this song is about you.
Paul Mcshane, you probably think this song is about you, don't you, don't you.....

    Genius!

Response to Arcticmonkey - TRY THIS:

    I was there to witness
    The goal from Dean Windass
    That lifted the Tigers
    On that day at Wembley

    It really doesn't matter
    Whatever's happened since then
'cause when we're at the KC
    There's always room for hero's

    Hey ho here we go
It's a new game now and it's time to show
When they come to Hull in the King's own town
They'll wish they'd stayed at home
    (and repeat).

FLG I agree the Paul McShane song from Amber Nectar is a beauty but can't agree with your assessment of this brilliant reworking of Robbie Williams song. Of-course I'm saying that tongue in cheek but really you should have a go at the words I've suggested in the previos post- you might love it. Then again maybe not but people seem to be constantly on the lookout for a new song. That doesn't mean you should accept any old crap but you should be open minded and I stand by my earlier comments that this is definitely a sing-along-song and someone will pick it up I reckon.

    Surely it isn't.

One of, if not the, worst songs I've ever heard.

I would rather hack me left bollock off with a cheese wire than sing that pile of ****.

    No offence intended.

At the weekend the small section on the left side were singing

Elmo, Elmo, Elmo, Elmo, Elmo, Elmo, Elmohamady- quite catchy to the No Limits Tune.

Number 1 is Paul McShane, Number 2 is Paul McShane, Number 3 is Paul McShane, Number 4 is Paul McShane... and so on to Yellow Submarine.

There was also a version of Caravan of Love sung which was good for all of 2 minutes then it stopped.

    Bit picky aren't we?

Just adds to the texture and flavour.

I have just purchased three bottles of red from Aldi for the princely sum of £2.99 a bottle.

    Bet you're interested now.

...actually a very poor attempt at plagiarism by Mr Williams if you ask me ... if you had even a modicum of musical knowledge you would have immediately recognised the similarity to a song sung by 7 small blokes from a male voice miners choir .. "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work we go ..."

Thing is, how are you going to get others singing it? Unless every single person who goes to every game is also a member on here, it's going to be hard to teach people the words? Unless you faxed it forward to the club and left a copy on the seats.

I quite liked the "I predict a riot, we've got Matty Fryatt." song we had in the first season. Caravan of Love would be good, if not then Happy Hour by the Housemartins would get people jumping.

We used to sing "I predict a Fryatt" when he was with us ... now that's a proper song ... always wanted our lot to come up with a take on 'The Story Of The Blues' by The Mighty Wah from the 80s ... another real anthem ... just wondering, have you considered a 'Hello Kitty' ditty?

Sorry for the late responses- it was about 2am over here when the weight of onstnt rejection finally sent me off to bed.

CARMINE - if I wasn't over here in Melbourne I"d love to try some of your Aldi red. I'll let you know next time I'm in Hull.
FOSSEL - I am aware of the seven man choir of which you speak. I believe they died in a tragic mine accident.

As for me, after three valiant attempts at coming up with crowd pleasing songs on this site, I may have to accept the fact that my musical genius won't be recognised until long after my death.

I forgot to say they were also singing a song to the tune of Come On Feel The Noise by Slade. Think Rovers sing something similar.

Yeah Golaccio, there's certainly plenty of choice. From old rock classics to newer stuff. Maybe the problem doesn't really lay in available music but the stuff that's been referred to in other threads (including the one that's going now about 'atmosphere').
