No Original as you can see in our previous conversations. It's only an opinion. I'm not as keen on him as GHoddle but I'm glad he's with us. He made an excellent save against Fulham. I take it that you're not impressed with him then? So that's GHoddle and Dawn you think I am?
Ok Relayer, point taken. I know this thread says "So far" but I'm wondering over the course of the season who our MVP will be. I'll bet Lloris saves our arses quite a few times.
Of course I am impressed with Lloris, but as Relayer69 has rightly mentioned, it's stretching things a bit far at this early stage in his time with us to start calling him our MVP. I don't wish to get too involved in a debate on all his keeper abilities because recent experiences on this site, means I now tread carefully on Lloris matters as his guardian angel is always lurking. But yes, his save in the Fulham game was an excellent one.
I'd say Defoe has been Tottenham's most valuable player so far this season... please log in to view this image ...however, there are still those who think that all he does is score goals - as if that's such a terrible thing!
There's 4 stand out players for me, for different reasons. Defoe Dembele Sandro Vertonghen Defoe for his hard work and professional attitude over the last year which is now paying off for him. He having a superb season and has proven a lot of us wrong regarding the lone striker situation. Dembele who just oozes class and has shown how he is the creative catalyst in midfield - he's settled well and given his all in the games he's played. Sandro for just being an absolute rock when we've needed him the most. He's developing into a world class defensive midfielder. And vertonghen - for me the MVP. Not only has he switched leagues and country, but for half of this season he's been out of position. His quality has been clear for all to see and he offers us so much diversity. - central, left sided and even attacking. For me, he is the epitome of professional. Never argues with the ref, always focussed and tries his best in every single game for 90 mins. If daws is out, I'd like to see him become our captain. He deserves it. One of the top 3 summer prem buys, IMO.
I assume 'valuable' to mean contributing to wins, that being the case, it has to be Dembele, Defoe and his goals are a shout, but just based on win stats with MD in the side, has to be him for me. Others mentioned here have played in his absence and didn't stop the blip. He pretty much does the same thing week in week out, its whether the rest of the team capitalise on it.
Lloris as MVP??!! Thor are you on a wind up? He has probably only played half the games of the others being mentioned. Maybe at the end of the season but certainly you can't make Lloris MVP right now. My list: Defoe Sandro Vertonghen Dembele Dembele would be jiggers but he has missed a chunk of the season being injured. Honourable mentions go to Bale and Lennon.
Sorry Vim I don't understand what you're saying and No Spurf I'm not dawn. One or two others have thought that because apparently I have a similar style but no I was Dark Side of the Moon on the 606. So who's Yoda? Ok crackerman, point taken but I don't have another suggestion.
TMT, Vim is just joking about the slightly yoda-like way that you expressed yourself (not sure you did really) and Spurf has, being the genius he is, managed to pull two strands together with DJ Yoda. They are just pulling your leg.
Have you ever heard of a programme called "I've never seen Star Wars"? If so, it was made for you. He is a character in the films and also in a series of annoying phone adverts at the moment.
I've just googled him and no I didn't know his name but I had seen him before. I'm not in England so I don't get the adverts. Anyway I stand by Lloris as MVP so there.
