Fresh article, God knows we need one.

So we're 15 games in to the season, a fair few players have been tried and tested baring a few injured players. A few youngsters have come in (Wisdom, Sterling, Suso, Shelvey). New signings (Allen, Borini, Assaidi, Sahin) And of course Lucas returning from injury. Right now, with all players fit, what would you say is our strongest eleven/team you'd most like to see.

I know it's a fairly simple thread but with all the year old threads I thought we should actually get some new stuff up.

    For the sake of it here's the team I'd like to see most;

    ------------Reina-----------
    Johnson-Agger-Skrtel-Enrique
    ------------Lucas-----------
    ---------Allen---------------
    ---------------Gerrard------
    -----------Suarez----------
    Sterling---------------Borini

I think the back 6 pretty much picks itself, barring maybe Enrique pushed forward with Wisdom/Kelly in for him.

Midfield you could have Shelvey and Sahin and possibly Gerrard or Allen out, or maybe even Suso as in AM.

Suarez is a dead certain, Sterling is pretty much a starter now too but he's still only 17 so obviously he'll need to be rested sooner or later, Assaidi, although untested in the EPL, I've liked what I've seen from him in the EL games, he's not a predictable player which is what you need for a wide forward. But I'd go for Borini purely for his clever movement and instinct finishing (though we haven't seen it yet in a Liverpool shirt)

You could have Cole, or maybe even a youngster in either Morgan or Yesil. Suso can play up there too, or you could have Gerrard, Suso or Shelvey as a 'false 9' (whatever the bloody hell that is). Or Gerrard or Suso as a wide forward, and of course Assaidi is an option.

I guess this is just something to talk about, the days seem to go so slow between matches these days.

I agree with the top post with Borini. But more goal impact is needed.

For the time being, in theory he's our best option to get goals (Suarez aside). His injury was very unfortunate and I fear that he'll probably drift away when he returns unless he's spectacular, like everything else, Lucas' influence will probably improve everyone who is forward from the halway line's game

Btw, what is up with Sahin? I really rate him as he was such a top top player at BVB, but what is going on? Confidence? Injury problems again?

    After January

    ----------Reina----------

Johnson---Skrtel--Agger---De Vrij ( if no one Enrique)
    --------Lucas---Sahin----------
    ------------Gerrard-------------
Suarez-----A Miracle-------ENrique ( if at LB, Sterling or Assaidi)

Feel sorry for Borini. He got his injury just as the team started to show a little spark.

  8. Some would call it unlucky, others would call it coincidence. Me? I'd call it a little from column A and a little from column B <ok>

Enrique at left wing is a must for me - he has brought so much penetration to our attack.

I read a stat that we had only created 15 clear chances in our first 11 matches. Since Enrique moved to LW (4 games since), we have created 12.

Agree 100% with Enrique on the wing.

How about B team 11? Show our squad depth.

    -----------Jones---------------
    -Wisdom-Kelly-Coates-Robinson-
    -----------Coady---------------
    ---Henderson-------------------
    ----------------Suso-----------
    ----------Shelvey--------------
    -Cole-------------------Assaidi-

Needs a more experienced and PL ready DM.
Also, another forward. though really a new forward would most likely go in the first 11 and Borini into this 11.
Maybe an experienced LB to. Other than that I think this looks good.

Cole beat Downing because of his recent performance in Europe.

  14. Don't we need to agree on a first eleven before doing this...? <whistle>

At the moment, I'd select the same team as Luv! <ok>

As Suarez is out for the West ham game, I'd move Gerrard into Suarez's position and put either Suso or Sahin into midfield. It'll be interesting to see if BR will do likewise, or play Cole or Downing instead. I really hope he doesn't do this, though!

  19. I suspect it will be Cole coming in with Shelvey staying as the F9

If Shelvey's in for Suarez, who would Cole replace in Luv's line up? Allen? Gerrard? Lucas? <yikes>
