Since we now have no game In mid-Dec I wonder if NA/NC will take them away to someplace warm for a bit. A nice break before the holiday matches would be a good thing I think.
May well be the case.....a lot of seat warming until Abramovich gets his intended target....Pep Guardiola
You probably wouldn't make light hearted jokes about say a sweep cleaner possibly losing their job, so why do it about Benitez?
The sweep cleaner rarely gets a seven- (or eight-) figure payout upon being relieved of their duties.
Out of the League Cup and if we get beaten by Chelsea we'll be out of the FA Cup too. We can then focus on the league and not have distractions.
I think a cup run can have a good effect on league form too though. I think you can knock them out. The confidence boost would be a good thing IMO.
Finally, we'll get back on level games played with Reading. Hate them having a game in hand, as hard to get an idea of how much better or worse we are doing than them.
I think the more top clubs we play in the cup, the better it can be for when it really counts - the league. Practice makes perfect.
They play that (away to Sunderland) next Tuesday. So we'll have the game in hand for ages. Reminds me of League 1
Ah OK. Funny, when Saints have a game in hand, I always assume we'll lose it. When another team has one, I assume they'll win it. Got to hope for a draw for the Reading-Sunderland game, surely? With a few strategic cards.
By the way Saints v Chelsea has NOT been chosen for TV coverage. Games chosen are Brighton v Newcastle, West Ham v Man Utd, Swansea v Arsenal and Lincoln/Mansfield v Liverpool.
