If he does go to Madrid then you could go for some of their cast off midfielders like Granero and Gago. Both are excellent passers and will probably be motivated to prove Madrid wrong just as VDV, Sneijder, Robben etc did. Madrid are also likely to offload Kaka and Benzema in the summer, you might not need Benzema but imagine if you could get Kaka back to his best...

I reckon the best bet would be Steven Defour.He's had a bad injury and his stock may have dropped slightly,However he can't be any more than 24,if he would land him for say ã10 million max,I reckon it would be a steal.
