What a crap draw will be played in front of one man and his dog at the valley dead rubber boring no interest what do you think
About the least exciting draw we could have got. There are only a couple of really interesting ties - Cheltenham/Hereford v Everton and Lincoln/Mansfield v Liverpool. Also, did you see ITV had Bristol City listed simply as 'Bristol' and Nottingham Forest simply as 'Nottingham'. Awful.
They're not even in Nottingham! Think Barnsley might have been a bit more dull, but Huddersfield very boring. Better than losing away to Mansfield I guess.
Terribly disappointing draw - I've got the chance to stay down in Kent past New Year, but I don't think it's worth it for this one.
Should be a good game. Am I the only one looking forward to it? I know all the arguments against the Cup by the way - I read them on 'ere every year.
Look on the bright side we have a chance of going through to the next round and getting a more exciting tie
The fun of the Cup (until you get to the quarter-finals at any rate) is meeting teams from other divisions. But in Charlton's case it hardly matters. We know how it will end. Chance for Powell to play some fringe players (Button, Taylor, Waggy, BWP, Cook, etc). If it is any comfort, Huddersfield fans are probably more disappointed than us.
Say the same every year, I'd like us to go through, but wouldn't be too upset with going out. Last thing I want is a draw, with a midweek replay up there.
The object of the exercise this year is to stay up no promotion or relegation battles and we seem to be nicely on course for that especially once our injuries have cleared up. No harm at all in a cup run is there?
We can hope for a better draw in the 4th Round. Providing we get there. The way I see it, there's no shame in losing to a Premier Leauge Club (hence Tottenham and Fulham was that bad). Losing to one in your own league (providing their not relegation fodder) is bearable. Sickening losing to one lower down the league (Northwich Victoria).
With the exception of a few, you lot are a right bunch of miserable sods. If it has Charlton Athletic on the tin, I'm up for it. Even the 5-a-side masters deserve our support.
Exactly, we'll be fine this season but don't have enough to make the play-offs. We've got a winnable draw, why not go for it?
A good chance to blood some of our youngsters. Azeez will be back from Wycombe, and Pope and Harriott are well worth a punt. Fox too if Wiggins isn't back by then.
Right on Ponders. We've got a home draw ffs. If it was away at hudders, it would have been rotten, but it's do-able, and as I think we've settled in to this tier now, I fancy a cup run. Up and at 'em.
It's another chance to go and watch my beloved Charlton. Something i said before setting off to Northwich. Got my perplexed face on ITV that day
Ha ha Salford! I rearranged an entire weekend around my desire to see Northwich v Charlton live on TV in a foreign country. When I think about the excuses I had not to watch that one, I curl up inside.
