This season is over as far as I am concerned..

    hapless hammers are beating us..

no energy after the equaliser went in..

seriously rafa is not going to be the motivator for such occassions..

    Oscar is invisible nowadays..

just had a sighting of wigan moses and he is subbed .. what a piece?

    bring back Guus or Carlo..

    rant over!!

    A good reminder re transition.

We are a team in transition and will be for the rest of the season.

We know where our problems lie and hope to christ that they get attended to at the appropriate opportunity.

For a team that has lost its spine (Drogs, Lamps, Terry for a chunk of this season) we are not too bad.

  5. Do you guys think that Benitez can survive this?

He was brought in by your owner to get Torres' value up, when even you guys must see that Torres is finished. As much as I have absolutely no respect for or faith in Benitez, I am prepared to admit that the man cannot work miracles. Everyone must know that, apart from (so it would seem) your owner.

Benitez has painted himself into a corner. If he keeps Torres in the first XI, you'll have more days like today, and Benitez will get sacked; if he drops Torres, your owner will sack him anyway, for failing to do the job he was brought in to to (which is to get Torres playing half-decently so that you can recover something of the £50m that was paid for him). Either way, Benitez is a dead clown walking, in my view.

All started when we opted for AVB instead of Guss - we were clutching at straws when we appointed RDM and we're doing precisely the same thing with Rafa possibly because no one else wanted it. Mercifully, the fixture list up to January is not horrendous, sufficient scope to scratch some results until we can ditch Torres and bring in a "real" forward because our inability to convert chances is hurting us.

  8. Okay. I get the insults, because you are hurting, so I can forgive you that. But what about addressing the specific points in my argument? Can you not see that Benitez has painted himself into a corner?

Abramovich has painted Benitez into a corner. He can do nothing that Robbie couldn't do, but yet the owner thinks a new manager will miraculously get Torres scoring ,a midfielder will emerge from the ether and take control, and everything will be hunky dory.
Instead the team is disgruntled, and running on empty and the fans are totally pissed off.
One thing is certain, even with replacements Coco will not achieve what RDM would have. A classic case of hysterics destroying a season. Nothing new there.

The absence of JT and Lamps are key to this mess! If they had been fit and available Robbie would still be here and we'd have had at least 5 of the 8 points we've dropped with Rafa! Lukaku must get back in Jan as well.

  12. Yes, I agree with that.

I suppose Benitez will consider that he cannot really lose. He's got himself back at a high-profile club in the league that he loves best, and he's probably bagging himself a nice heap of cash. And, so what if he gets sacked? He'll be in some very good company.

Agreed, again. Which is why even us neutrals are puzzled as to why he replaced RDM with Benitez. Pepe, yeah, that would be understandable, and perhaps one or two others, but this appointment seems utterly pointless (if it is accepted that Torres is beyond hope).

It's already clear that a significant number of Chelsea fans simply will not accept Benitez, even if he does get the club firing on all four cylinders, but going into an early slump is going to get everyone on his back. This really does have shades of Roy Hodgson/LFC about it. In the end, the fans will force Abramovich's hand.

It'll be interesting to see (a) how much money, if any, Abramovich gives Benitez to spend in the January transfer window, and (b) how wisely Benitez spends it.

He won't give money to Benitez to spend. Abramovich buys the players HE wants, he'll tell his staff who he wants and they have to oblige. What a way to run a football club.

I bet he sit's on his throne playing Subbuteo while rose petals are thrown over him by naked Russian whores.

If you took him to the sea, he'd try to get the tide to go out. People passing by would stop and cry, "Hey, look! It's Canute!"

And but for the addition of the "a" and the "e" and a slight rearrangement of the remaining letters, they'd be right.
