the thread about lawernson got me thinking, as we dispise all that are present on the show who would make your MOTD dream team!!??

I would go for Host Jake Humphrey/Mark Chapman

and the panel would consist of Lee Dixon, Stan Collymore & Gary Neville.

3 ex pros who actually talk sense and have a completely un-biased view on all clubs! Amazing how one moved to ITV <doh>, and its a shame that one is a radio presenter and Neville is on sky.

I agree with all of those except Collymore.

Really? I think the bloke talks a lot of sense 99% of the time.

I don't care how much sense he talks, just can't stand the two-timing woman-beater!

To be honest, I haven't heard a great deal of his punditry. However, as dave says, he was/is a rather unsavoury chap.

Wouldn't mind Dan Walker presenting as an alternative to Jake... Think he's good on football focus!

Murray Walker - he'd make the dullest nil-niller exciting! Probably equal in analysis and insight as the current crop too.

I did like Mick McCarthy whenever he was doing the punditry. Also though Phil Neville was very good on Saturday night.

It's not football granted, but the late and great Sid Waddell would be on the MOTD Dream Team, not sure whether he even likes football, but would be entertainment without doubt, it would never happen even if he was alive, but still, we can wish.

Much as I loved Dion as a player for us he is an abysmal pundit.

    For me

Murray, Hansen, Dixon and Pat Nevin.

Pat Nevin is very good and I don't understand why he never gets any big gigs.

    Worst

    Keyes, Wright, Birtles and Shearer

I've never seen Birtles as a pundit, what's he on?

That's why I've never seen him! Not interested in lining Murdoch's pockets! <ok>

Agree Dave, but I fear we have gone to far down the road, and we will never see
Premier League and Test Cricket(my favourite sport) on terrestrial TV again. <grr><grr>

I have no idea, some form of mind numbing drug with a side effect of talking excitable nonsense I expect It also effects his vision because he see's things no-one else does,

Don't forget to set your alarm for 4.00 a.m. on Wednesday, Yarco, ready for the 3rd test in India on 5live sports extra <ok>

I agree, I look back with great fondness to test match cricket with Richie Benaud, Simon Hughes, etc on channel 4. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Geoff Boycott on TMS, however, can fleck off <grr>

I like Dion's puditry, Carrabuh. I think he tries hard to be balanced (as opposed to Lawro, Hansen and Shearer). His analysis of City leaving too much space for Leighton Baines in the Everton match was spot on, IMO.

I find him to be just like Shearer, just describes what everyone can see anyway.

I like pundits who do proper analysis and tell me stuff I don't know.
