I think Lewis Hamilton has made a massive mistake in moving.

Does he honestly believe he'll be more competitive next season? <yikes>

No he doesn't, but he does believe he'll be more competitive in 2014 when the rules change and everyone starts from a new design/engine.

In a way Mercedes have nothing to lose next season. Hamilton knows he won't be as competitive as Red Bull, Ferrari, Lotus or Mclaren so what's stopping Mercedes creating a very radical car. If they go for broke and take risks you never know what might happen, they realise they took the wong path of development last season on the car and stopped developing it after Singapore to focus on the 2013 car.

There are alot of clever people at Mercedes and will take time to get to the top but with Ross Brawn and Hamilton there i'm confident.

Quite looking forward to 2013. First time in ages that I don't have to get my hopes up about Hamilton :)

Hopefully Mclaren can make their fast car a good one (reliable) and Button can up his game to.

You could almost call Hamiltons move to Mercedes a tactical retreat <ok>

If Brawns gimmicks don't work Lewis is ****ed, Brawn seems to put all his eggs in one basket and if it doesn't work he doesn't seem to know what to do about it.

I think that is one of the most balanced and constructive statements have read in relation to the move!

Yeah... we can just enjoy the racing while the Alonso/Vettel fans go in to meltdown. :)

Well, I think one thing we can all agree on is next year will be very interesting. I can't wait for it already, and it's only been a week since this season finished.

I'm looking forward to see how all the teams do, not just Lewis at Mercedes and Perez at Mclaren. The rules should be balanced again next year, so teams can learn from their mistakes (Mercedes hopefully ;)), and it'll keep it reasonably close again

I'm actually hoping to see Williams, Sauber and Mercedes as equal cars, Lewis vs Hulk vs Pastor at every track <ok>

    Lol...

The reason why I laughed at that comment by Brawn can easily be explained by Manny because he will know what I'm laughing about.

Wish we could change 'hopeful' to 'confident'.

I think "Ross Brawn will eat his hat if Mercedes can give Lewis Hamilton winning car!" would be better suited.

We've (Liverpool FC) have more chance of winning the league next year (*) than Mercedes have of giving Hamilton a winning car...

    * And we have no chance of that!

I thought I'd heard Whitmarsh say that they were going to release Hamilton early. Apparently not according to that.

I wonder if he had a change of mind or if Big Ron put the kibosh on it.

I think the deal was that he's been semi released. He's still got to do the odd sponsorship thing for McLaren but he's allowed to talk to Mercedes.

So he has to hang around for one of the very reasons he wants to leave? Makes sense. :p

    Still laughing at it.

3 Years and a car nowhere near ready for the title. Hope it stays like that, Mercedes do not deserve it.

The article doesn't fill me with a lot of hope... They still sound lost.
