So, the Villa game was the last game I could get to before I depart for Malaysia.........2 years without seeing the Hoops, regardless of the current situation, it still made me well up when the team walked out on the pitch at 3pm. Most posters on this forum have said what needed to be said; though did feel for SWP after he hit the ball at the keeper 1 on 1, then hit the post.......still reckon everyone is desperate for him to score. Have taken a look at the remaining fixtures and predict the following: - Wigan (A) - WIN - Fulham (H) - Draw - Newcastle (A) - Draw - WBA (H) - Draw - Liverpool (H) - Lose - Chelsea (A) - Lose - Tottenham (H) - Draw - West Ham (A) - Draw - Man City (H) - Lose - Norwich (H) - WIN - Swansea (A) - WIN - Man Utd (H) - Lose - Soton (A) - WIN - Sunderland (H) - WIN - Aston Villa (A) - WIN - Fulham (A) - Lose - Wigan (H) - WIN - Everton (A) - Draw - Stoke (H) - WIN - Reading (A) - WIN - Arsenal (H) - Draw - Newcastle (H) - Draw - Liverpool (A) - Draw Total = 35 points (+5 points we already have) = 40 points So, if that all works out, it's gonna be very close indeed. I dont think I have been overly optimistic or pessimistic, but have no doubt that the players will improve dramatically with HR at the helm. Lastly, I will accept relegation as long as the team show some heart and commitment and not that ****e that occured at the Saints game. Hope that TF has his finances in order, as I sincerely hope that we do not do what happened to Leeds and Portsmouth. Fingers crossed, and hopefully join in with some celebrations in May. RTID!!!!
Cheers Finglas, I'm going to teach PE at an International school. Might pen a letter to TF to see if he can sort us out some kit to help with the Asia revolution!!!
Sounds great Newbury. Have you lived/worked in that region before? Why Malaysia? I am sure TF would be willing to help you out with PE gear for the kids. You may well get to see the team there on a pre-season tour next Summer. Hope it goes well for you.
You be careful in Malaysia they are quite strict on drugs and by the look of your predictions you are on some pretty strong stuff.
I tell you what Newbury, if your predictions come to pass we'll all fly over to Malaysia without a plane!...
Enjoy Malaysia Newbury, great place in my experience and superb food. Years ago when I lived in Milan all my best mates worked at the International school, we all played in an Anglo-Italian pub team. If your colleagues are anything like this bunch you will have a great time.
Well, we have got to win away from home sooner or later......haven't we? Good a place to do it as any
All the best Newbury. What a fantastic oppotunity. I hope you enjoy it and cherish the memories for a lifetime. Don't be a stranger. Post if you can and let us know how your getting on. 'Newbury Hoop's Malaysian Diary' would make a great continual thread.
Good luck , I thought majority of predictions individually looked possible but when you look overall only 5 loses! I think that will be a stretch but we can hope!
