Well that title will stop a whole load of people reading this :)

However for anyone who has followed any of my ramblings they will know that I am rather fond of statistics so I thought I would put a few in here

On the prediction league this week for the first time all 30 predictors of a match forecast the same result - and were correct - obviously it was the Watford match - not one of us lost faith although we did vary in our margin of victory from just the one goal up to four - only two got the 4-1 correct though

Last year after 20 games we had just 24 points - that is 40% of the maximum 60 we could have scored. This year we have 33 points which is 55% of maximum.

However before we get too carried away with promotion ideas - if we take the points we obtained from equivalent games we had 36 points from those 20 games last year (My definition of equivalent games is results against the same side as last year - this though has to be adjusted due to promotion and relegation so for the side that finished top I have used our result against the top side that got relegated etc etc) Still with me - OK then enough for now.

They say you can prove anything with statistics and I am quite happy to have a go

I like stats as well, although you would not know it from my predictions over the years. :(

Here are some for your stats storage depot Leo. This shows the situation under different managers after 20 games in a season.

    GFZ 2012-13 33 points (6th) Goals 37-28
    AB 2005-06 36 points (3rd) Goals 35-24
    GT 2000-01 39 points (5th) Goals 38-22
    GT 1998-99 35 points (2nd) Goals 35-29
    SH 1988-89 35 points (3rd) Goals 32-20
    GT 1981-82 35 points (3rd) Goals 31-24

Excellent OFH - I might wet myself if this sort of thing keeps up. How on earth did you do that without it taking ages - thought I was the only saddo. Would be interesting to see where we finished in each of those seasons

I'm not snubbing the WPL by the way Leo, it's just that since I stopped predicting we've been brilliant.

For the same reason I try not to predict a Watford win as I often seem to "put the mockers" on us. But sometimes like yesterday you can just see no other possible result.

Any time you want to have a punt just drop in - you are still on the board and always welcome

(for some reason my earlier post didn't go through)

I originally said that I'm glad I didn't predict, because I'd probably have gone 0-0 or 1-1. In the past we've tended to make heavy work of home games against some of the slightly less fancied teams.

....and in 2007-08 under AB - 39 points.

Interesting to note that in the 2 seasons we had 39 points after 20 games we were not promoted!

There are lies, damn lies and "Statisitcs".

... and boot lases are a cumbersome weapon used by Bond villains - first developed from an idea by Goldfinger I believe

Not too bad for us though - better off than any other team as at the end of this June.
