Just a thought but in my opinion we all had far to high expectations when MON came in I still do but know those expectations will take time.
To many want instant success ain't going to happen. Now I'm not happy lying in the bottom 4/5 but one win takes us above that.
Finally Rome wasn't built in a day and it took 3years for SAF to build Man U so I'm willing to wait even if we go down (which I don't think we will.)
Hopefully in a couple of years we'll look back on this and think what a bunch of idiots we were.

SAF got Man U to 2nd in his 2nd season, 3rd season went downhill with 10 draws in 11 games, fans and media wanted him out but the board seen what he was doing with the club (getting rid of the drinking culture for 1) so he was never in any threat of actually getting the sack.

It is what the fans cant see that saved SAF, just hope MON is doing something similar with us or....

We will not be relegated ffs.

Bruce has stranded this club with a squad of very average footballers that he dressed up as good ones and we hoped would deliver.

They havent and the likes of Vaughan, Gardener, Mohammady, Larsson (to a lesser extent perhaprs), Campbell, Wickham, Ji, Bramble and Brown have added precious little to our club.

MoN has to have the time to rectify this and bring players with imagination, flair and pace which none of the above have.

Cuellar, Rose, Johnson and Fletcher are a good start but we need more. It wont happen overnight because we don't have the £100m up front it would take, so it will take 2 years.

Judge him after 2 full years by all means but not after 37 games ffs.

I don't think we're under any threat to go down, I think there's been some over-reaction, include myself in this, in the main due to the pre-season expectation.

I do like the links to Hooper and the suggestion that MON is looking at 4-4-2 with the correct personnel, the thing that struck me was that when it came down to it, and the rumours that he'd offered to walk, my gut said 'I hope this is bollocks'.

We'll be alright, I fancy at least a point today, and 3 more midweek, then we are skirting the top 10 despite a **** start.

Can't be too upset at that.

Harsh reality is, we could go down, we need a few wins to not get dragged deeper into the mire..

    But some are doing worse..

How can people say we won't go down? We can't win games and teams that can't win go down. Harry will start winning games at QPR and unless we improve there aren't 3 worse teams.that us in this league. Southampton are better than us and I dare say Reading would beat us on current form.

    I agree.

Also don't think you can compare a struggling managers situation at any club to the situation SAF was in in his first few years. SAF was never in danger of relegation, endless funds and a youth team better than most first teams.
Keep MON until we're adrift at the bottom.

Going down is a reality for you guys (as it is for us). Just as winning becomes a habit, so does losing (again look at us). If you lose today confidence will be at an all time low under your current manager.

Also this isn't a dig, but you're one injury to Steven Fletcher away from relegation certainties (a lot of teams are in this position, not just you). I'm confused as to why some people are saying you definitely won't go down but then happily reel off a list of all the sh*t players you supposedly have due to Bruce.

So which is it? Are you too good to go down or do you have a squad full of sh*t?

Cheers mate, I know it wasn't my most positive post about your current position, but I think both us and you should know by now that neither team is too good to go down.

I'd say there are probably only 6-8 teams at most that could boast such a claim to be fair, unfortunately neither Newcastle or Sunderland can be classed as one of those 6-8.
