Just a thread to say how thoroughly disappointed I am with the left side of Hull City fans at the City Ground yesterday. Not one reply to the "We're the right side, we're the right side, we're the right side Hull City" chant. P.S. McShane scored... What the f-?
I was sat on the left side, but I didn't bother singing. Usually I do, but I just couldn't be added, I was too into the game.
Which answers some of the questions about lack of atmosphere at our games. I see we still continue to be the away team with the highest percentage of fans determined to remain seated, and no doubt moaning about anyone actually getting behind the team.
There was me and my mate and a couple of lads behind me singing, pretty **** though, surrounded by little kids and oldies, actually stayed standing when fat bastard steward said sit down, then a few others joined, its annoying though when the biggest atmosphere around is a girl crying.
I think if you're going to go to an away game and plan to sit down, you shouldn't bother going. I remember two years ago when I went to Forest and nearly everybody was standing and the noise from our fans was incredible, even mentioned on their radio stations about how loud we were. Then yesterday, some so called "fans" go and seat in silence.
Funny how at other grounds if they are going to tell anyone to sit down ( a lot don't give a toss, quite rightly, about people standing) it is the away fans, whilst at the KC the only people the stewards and police hassle are home fans and they let the away fans do whatever they want. And then people wonder why the atmosphere is so crap at the KC and a handful of away fans make as much and more noise than the home ones. Not helped by too many of our fans who are there to spectate rather than support and act as if at the cinema or a theatre and, not content with that, object to anyone else getting behind the team.
was a **** atmosphere in general, should be sit anywhere at away games.. im in away direct and usually get plonked right in the middle of a load of non singers, its there perogative at the end of the day, but it is frustrating...much better at games when you can just wander to the back and mix in with the other people up for singing without people telling you , youre in there seat!..
Sometimes I stand, sometimes I don't. Depends on who is around me and also if I've got a bad back. Occasionally I'm too engrossed in the game to join in with the singing. The thing that perplexes me is when the singers turn on the non-singers instead of concentrating on the game.
So, you're saying that if I don't sing the songs (I sometimes do, it depends on who I go with and what mood I'm in) or stand up I shouldn't bother? I just enjoy watching football, if I want to sing, I'll sing with everybody else but it shouldn't be mandatory for every single away fan. That's one step away from saying "You aren't a fan if you don't sing." Which of course is a complete crock of ****. They give you a seat to sit on and granted it's nice to have the option, but I'll usually sit down and enjoy the game with a smile on my face.
That was a brilliant away day! Great atmosphere, especially from the City fans, and a decent goal from Matty Fryatt too to end their 36 match unbeaten home run I wander around E1 and E2, and at every home game someone is provoked by the ****s, before reacting and being thrown out. That amounts to entrapment in my eyes There's this old ginger bitch who looks like she's a smack addict, and she has this little speccy **** for a pitbull. They're the worst offenders.
They give you a seat but but everyone wants to use it. We need a system where those want to sit and spectate can do so and those who want to stand and support are free to do so. Of course those sitting can support as well but will risk getting tuts of disapproval from a number of the spectator types.
I understand why some want to sit and thats their right however in this day and age of modern technology surely a quick question when you want to buy your ticket would be easy enough to do. Have to admit that 1-0 a few years back where we nearly sold the end out with Fryatt scoring was a great game and atmosphere.
I was excited for the atmosphere at this one because I've missed the last two trips and heard it was really good. It was crap yesterday though, the stewards wouldn't let anyone stand and it seemed like we were all too spread out to really get going. Even when we scored it was a pretty quiet celebration, almost reserved. Didn't hear this chant at all which says a lot.
If you started that ****e moronic 'song' you should have been thrown out for being a cock. I sing with the best of them but refuse to sing that and the ****y 01482 bollocks. You make an effort with a song, I'll make an effort and join in. Realise I'm ranting by pisses me off when some knob thinks he's better than everyone else just because people didn't join in with his 'I'm a bellend' song
Wasn't your thread really AM, more some of the comments. We need some better, more imaginative songs though as ours are frankly piss poor. Take United, they have bucketloads, som funny, some emotive, most at least 5 lines long that suggest some thought and which give time for the song to build up and generally for more people to join in. 'she'll be wearing black and amber...' simple enough, bit different and generally you have most of east stand singing. Get some decent songs sorted and people will join in
