The draw for the third round of the Cup is taking place tomorrow at 2.40 (after the Wimbledon derby). We are in the hat as No. 17.

A home tie would be nice but I have a sneeky suspicion that we'll be drawn away to No. 48.

I’d take 48 away although would prefer Aldershot Town progress due to the travel.

Personally I’d like an away game but one we are confident about winning. That would rule out any team in the Premier League or Championship (or possibly a top half Div One side)

I’m hoping for Brentford at Griffin Park. I haven’t been there in a long time…

I'm - as ever - hoping for an away tie at Bournemouth (I could walk to the game). Failing that, anyone at home would do for me.

Ah! I was wondering who you meant by No. 48. Now all becomes clear.

To be honest, I'd love it to happen for the convenience of me getting to the game, but it would be a tough draw for us. Since Eddie Howe came back as manager a month or two back, the Cherries have been flying (I don't think they've lost since he took over). We ought to be good enough to put out any League One side, but as we all know the cup doesn't always work that way.

For me I'd like a trip down memory lane to Lincoln/Mansfield.
    The romance of the cup.

Indeed, and on the face of it one to actually avoid. I picked this up the other day (mistaking 'Eddie Howe' for 'Our Ernie' !) which was what made me think of you when the Cup draw details were announced.

I'd like us to play AFC Wimbledon, because that would mean they would've beaten the dons, and I could walk to the game

Revenge time - it's Blackpooool. Nice to be at home.

Close call though Captain - we only missed the 48rs by one ball. Wigan is a tough one for them but do-able.

The one thing the article doesn't say about Bournemouth (sorry everyone else, we're going way off topic here) is that he's playing with two wingers, rather than his predecessor's midfield diamond. That and the fact that he's such a folk-hero at Bournemouth that it instantly boosts the morale of players, fans, etc. All the Bournemouth fans I know were like dogs with two tails when they heard he was coming back.

Back on the far more important subject of Fulham and the cup draw, I'm happy with Blackpool - no disrespect to them, but a home draw against a non-premier league team is as much as any club in our position has a right to hope for. It's far from being a shoo-in, but it's a game we should be favourites for.
