I have been out all day so only know the score but not what happened, I did note. no cards again today, are we being too timid?
We needed to rotate the squad but that didn't happen, all our attackers looked knackered both physically and mentally.
Okay, so the mid week game has taken its toll, we didn't do great today. Other teams in the bottom half will probably go to Anfield & get points, that really grates.....but.....so glad we didn't do a 3- or 4-0 today. That could have been so damaging at a time where we really look to have turned a corner. I'm pleased we lost to a decent goal, couldn't handle hearing Paulo's gaff names called out from all quarters tonight. We live to fight another day, next two games are big, lets regroup, rest, draw a nice fat blue line, then go & win. Saints/.
To be honest, this was an amateur error from Adkins. I was amazed not to see Mayuka come on today or Wednesday (enough time to make a difference anyway). If I'm going to be brutally honest, Adkins ****ed up (again). Mayuka is a good player and would add a lot more pace to our attack. Instead he just sits on the bench and does jack ****.
I am confused as to why we went for someone with his ability and potential to be a game changer and never bring him on! He has looked good when given a chance.
Ok maybe that was a bit stupid with Gazza but I made it up just after the game when I was still angry at him. Do you agree with what I have said about Adkins?
I really don't think we have the luxury as there are not many players that can fill in. Take today's starting eleven with a weeks good training and we will have no problem. But we missed Cork and Gaston completely and not surprisingly we couldn't replace them. With a fully fit squad and some R&R I am confident we can go to town on Reading and a softened up Sunderland.
Only just got home and haven't seen any football at all today, can anyone confirm whether Gazza had a good game. This seems to be what the stats are showing?
Just got back in from the ground, so will post a few brief thoughts: - Anfield was as dead as the grave. No atmosphere there whatsoever - Paulo wasn't too bad, but a few dodgy kicks - Defence played well, Fonte/Clyne/Shaw all named as joint MOTM on our coach - Midfield were overan by Liverpool - Strikers probably thought Liverpool were us Very poor display today
