You said that it was just me, based on my English arrogance, that said that the EPL was the best league to play in - and I corrected you by telling you that it was top players that said that.
Look we should go for Gotze, I'm not going to steal the phone or fax machine from Arsenal, but all I'm saying, is that he will not be looking to join a team that wins nothing, when he's playing for a big club that's winning things, as a professional footballer he will be looking to join a team that will continue to provide that for him, and that's not Arsenal.
We had better start pulling up our socks and winning sharpish or we wont attract anyone . Thats a fact .
No, I THINK THE EPL IS THE BEST. That's not the arrogant part. The arrogance part is on the stature, you seem to think Dortmund don't have a stature as well, or a rich history, that's the arrogance I'm talking about. So mentioning Arsenal's stature doesn't mean much because he already plays for a club with a great stature, that's the arrogant part, you seem to not see that or not view Dortmund as a club with stature.
Finally We should be going for players like Gotze. Simply resigning ourselves to the thought that they won't want to come, is tantamount to giving up and accepting mediocrity. We have to show ambition - and it looks as though we will be better placed financially to do so also
70k a week, he will automatically demand a 50k wage increase minimum in today's inflated market, he will be looking for a wage of 120-150.
Wrong again Where did I say that Dortmund don't have stature ? I said that the EPL is generally considered (by top players) as a step up from the Bundasliga
Your mentioning Arsenal's stature, but that's irrelevant when your at a club that already has a stature, and is winning things. Spurs have a stature, Liverpool have a stature, the second greatest stature in English history, so you telling me they have a chance in hell of getting Gotze?????????????
I think Arsenal have a better chance of signing Gotze than Spurs or Liverpool if that's what you mean ?
Guys guys guys. ! Its possible to have a discussion without it being an arguement . We are in a downward slope , but its not terminal yet . We DO need radical changes i think , at a tactical level. before the 4th place dissapears over the horizon .
Anyways, I have bad news, Dortmund won't let Gotze go until summer, so it's irrelevant until then. Any new players we do get will still be either a month, or 2 away, so we still have to put up with the same players we currently have, a lot of whom are just average, and gotten us to where we currently are, 10th in the league. We have some big and tough games coming against West Brom, Newcastle, West Ham, things could continue to go very very bad for us, which wouldn't be a surprise with the way we've been playing. People can say let's turn it around, we've been saying that for months, it's almost going to enter the stage were we simply fall off and continue in this vain, it happened to Liverpool few seasons back when they dropped out of the top 4, so it's not impossible for us, and the way we've been playing with no turn around, it's more than likely to happen to us as well.
As I just wrote, I worry this could become terminal very soon, it's almost entering that stage, we've been like this for months, so the likelihood of this being terminal is higher than it being an unlikelihood!
Dude, we couldn't even play properly to Villa, so yes, Newcastle. We struggled against QPR as well, we are in no position at the moment to say oh this team ain't tough.
Newcastle have the worst form out of all the Prem teams, even Villa even Norwich, even QPR. Their fans have given up, their best players are out with injury.
I have always said that with a great squad, Wenger would win trophies or at least come very close. I am starting to believe that this is no longer the case. The current squad, while not really title contenders should be doing a bloody sight better than 10th in December. They're all internationals FFS! And most of them are internationals for strong footballing nations. We look so clueless going forward at the moment. I don't think even the January transfer window can save us this time. There is a malaise that has settled over the club. We reward mediocrity and praise failure. There also seems to be contempt among the board and also Wenger for the fans. Wenger's post-match interview was evidence of this. He didn't want to talk about transfers, he didn't have any explanation as to why our players are 'jaded' when other team's players who have played the same number of games are not and he didn't want to talk about the protests outside the ground. If we don't see a dramatic improvement in form and results then Wenger out!!!
I dunno what hes going to do. He doesnt seem to know WHAT to do himself. He seems to shrug his shoulders a lot these days.
