Mindless & embarrassing. Not our proudest day that's for sure. Actually I know a few guys that went and they said it was actually a little cluster of fans and most of our fans were frowning and shaking their heads. However, the press are going overboard with this as inappropriate chanting in football happens among many teams. I don't know why we are being singled out. Spurs fans taking the moral high ground on this need to look at themselves. Just a few off the top of my head: Wenger and Maddie chants, matthew Harding chants, Adebayor washing elephants chants. None of this makes our chants ok but it also takes away tottenhams right to be offended. Most teams have a section of these clowns and it is a real problem in football.
Couldn't hear it properly, but Sky have just said it is, 'Adolf Hitler, He is coming for you.' Offensive on so many levels. However, we all know a noisy few get heard whether they are singing something positive or offensive.
Another week of the gf wearing her West Ham shirt with a smirk on her face. Fair play tho a great result.
What's your point? You have a superior squad and side to us with experience and a manager who's cut it in the top flight before. You should have walked the league last year but you had to rely on your class during the play-offs and hope that your class wasn't defeated by form. Your manager was too defensive and you had teams parking the bus and treating you as a cup final, hence all the 0-0's, especially at home. Now you're in the PL and drawing games and winning one nil is appropriate for a midtable team like yourselves. It's a lot better than last year where you were going for the top two and you consistently drew and dropped two points each time.
I knew one would take it badly. My point good Sir, is that so many of you belittle of as nothing more than a hoofball team with a dinosaur manager. The thread was a "tongue in cheek" response to all those saying they would rather go down playing the right way and the "ahem" was just a little reminder. Just a bit of fun that's all. And get over last season mate. You were great but you have to move on. Not many teams go down a and bounce straight back, so we should be commended on our promotion, not criticised. Sounds like you were unlucky not to grab a point today by the way. Keep performing like you have been the last few weeks and you will fly up the table I'm sure
I know you're joking but your side is a lot better than our's so you should be doing well! I don't think you're that much of a hoofball team, you do play football at times and Allardyce is a good fit for your club's ambitions. Our team is made up of quality Championship players with little top flight experience, our lacking of it is why we've struggled and your players are no longer under the pressure that you had last year. We were just a goal away from a point but from the bits I saw of us I thought we were dreadful!
You could always buy the Sunday Sport... that way you'll be ****ing into "Dirty Dave" Sullivan's bank...
We came up below yourselves and spent a fair bit less than you in the summer. I don't really see how we could have "a much better side than you", unless you are saying you bought poorly in the summer compared to us? I was only listening to Gillette soccer Saturday but Charlie Nicholas was making it sound like you had some good spells of pressure? If that's not the case, you were playing a very good side away from home and a 1-0 defeat is no disgrace.
You were relegated with one of the best sides ever to be relegated, you lost a few good players but you bought quite a few: Nolan, Taylor, Carew, Lansbury, a couple more strikers in January in Vaz Te and Maynard too. We haven't bought poorly but we could have had another centre back, maybe even a left back too. Our attack is fine it's just the defence that hasn't been up to scratch. Plus we may have spent more in transfers but I wonder who spent more in wages? We had a few chances but I think that if we had taken one then Liverpool would have felt robbed.
Ah so u needed a centre back and a left back on top of the 30+m you already spent And you would be set?
Hey Lamballana, With regards to our bet... What happens if saints finish above West Ham and QPR stay up? I take it we both give £20 to charity rather than call it quits? Would seem a bit bit more in keeping in the spirit of the bet!!!
Maybe just a cb because we have Luke Shaw in our team now who's looked good with high potential. Only a few million or so on a new cb, we do find quite a few bargains. But yes, the 7 million we splashed out on Rodriguez IMO was way too much, it may be good in the long term but short term he is yet to impress-he needs a run of games. If we had that then I think we'd quite comfortably stay up, because we haven't we're going to need to spend in January to ensure survival otherwise it's going to go down to the wire and we could potentially be relegated.
Tbh your team under achieved last season were as Saints overachieved. It is now being seen in the Prem West Ham have far more Prem Quality players(including back up) compared to Saints. Despite spending 30 mil we still very much a few defenders short to make our team Prem standard .
When we beat you 4-1 at Upton Park, we went 10 points clear of you. Many of you claimed that this was because we had had an easy run of fixtures. Well, we have now played each of last seasons top 5 and we have played a few tough away games. We are still 10 points clear so does that argument still stack up?
