I said on here at the beginning of the season, this could be the closest Prem ever. At all levels not just top 4. On more than one occasion I have said I don't think Mancini is actually a very good manager. I also don't rate Rafa. (I may have a bet on him being sacked next!) Just watched SSN SS results show, haven't watched or listened to any of the matches. But once again some shocking results (well to me). Of course top of those results has to be Chelsea getting stuffed by WHU. Was AVB right in his view Chelsea as a team need shaking up, is the player power at Chelsea actually causing them to implode. AVB is actually getting TH sorted and playing like a team again AND has been unlucky when they have lost imho. (His biggest test will be if he can keep them playing without their Talisman Bale.) Did Chelseas need for instant gratification, cost them the services of what looks to be a good young manager. Time will tell. Wenger undoubtedly a very good manager just can't seem to get any consistency right now. Their have been grumblings among the Arsenal faithful for some time now it is time for a change. Who the **** could they bring in who is actually better than Wenger? Love them or hate them Pulis uses what he has to hand to grind out results. Man U? Look vulnerable quite often this season going behind early often, but as per they ****ing grind down teams with their attacking philosphy. As I'm typing this Reading has just got 1-0 up after 9 minutes. I have returned to this paragraph as Man U has just equalised!!! Unfuckingbelievable ManU 2-1 up. 3 minutes is a long time in football. hahaha FFS 2-2. The perspective? Although we haven't been tearing up trees, we have played well in spurts. And quite often been unlucky in the way games have gone. No I'm not saying MON has got everything sorted, as quite clearly he hasn't. At the moment for me he has the excuse of another man's tools. (Even though he himself hasn't used that excuse.) I think we may see a big change when he can get a few more players in to compliment our squad. Quite clearly there is a confidence problem. Are some of the players feeling like they can't trust certain other players? It certainly looks that way to an outsider like me. Even before the January window I would love MON to say **** it lads, just go out there and attack show the crowd what you can do. If we get beat lets get beat all guns blazing. We are going to miss Catts big time, even the Catts haters who reckon he has been ****e, when in fact he has been our MOTM. Opinions eh? In my life time I have seen much worse than what we have on show right now at the SOL. A LOT WORSE! Give MON a chance no team in this league scares me. Change for the sake of change could be the worst thing for SAFC. A new manager brings no guarantees. Let MON have his tenure and judge him on that, not on picking and choosing games to judge him on. If it goes tits up so be it! The one thing certain in football is, nothing is certain. The Reading game is the perfect example of todays Premier League. If Man U weren't getting back into games on a regular basis after the **** defending mistakes they have been making. They would be screaming for Fergies head. Reading just went 3-2 up 25 minutes gone. Hahahaha Who the **** could replace Fergie?
MR - City and Utd are the only 2 teams that can win the title. Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea head the chasing pack but only just to be honest and there is **** all between the next 15 teams on the day. In fact outside the 2 Manchester teams, there is **** all between the next 18 teams on the day. That's why its madness to talk of replacing Martin. We are, after only 13 games, right in the mix up for a top 10 place along with every other club. He will buy again in January and we will kick on. I fear no one and yet we could be beaten by anyone and in that we are no different than 90% of that league.
My only caveat on that would be 100% of the league. For the first time in years every team looks beatable. Including the top two. Who are relying on individual players touches of brilliance rather than team play.
Who would replace fergie = any manager in world football would jump at the chance Who could replicate fergie = no one but that doesnt mean he is untouchable, he will also be retiring very soon as well, so they will have to replace him sooner rather than later in any case. I will reiterate though I am an MON in and he should be given more time but its very worrying times even for the most optimistic of us, it could very easy go either way, rise up or go even further down the table. I am not being ageist here, but this has been bugging me for awhile, ppl say we need stabilty and a long term manger obviously fergie esque long term is out but how long do you think MON will last, he is 60 now so 3, 5, 7, 10 years or even longer, 3-5 years isnt really long term, 7-10 is but look at moyes it took him a few years to get going, fergie 4 years, so by the time MON has his team in place, and hopefully playing great and getting top 8 etc, he is going to retire and leave us in the **** (not his fault just a fact of life).
What I find bemusing is why fans that wanted to give Bruce more time are not prepaired to give MON more time. The kids of today have been brought up on too much instant microwaveable potaoe and it's gone to their heads.
from memory regarding Bruce. it was me against everyone else (maybe 1 or 2 were on Bruces side but it was not many) but i could see their points and even agreed with some of them.
WTF? Those of us who had the nerve of questioning the almighty Bruce were in the minority. Were labelled from the start as the Bruce Out Brigade for having the nerve to question his team selections. Certain members on here who should have known better and been more MODERATE in the way they voiced their opinion. Actually used it to cause division in the forum. Starting numerous threads just to have a go at fellow Mackem's for not toeing the line. I can understand why some want MON gone. My point is always the same, voice your opinion not your venom. At the moment I will back MON as we aren't getting hammered like some make out.
I meant just before he got the chop, the tirade from his 4-6-0 went on for about 20 pages against brighton and there were a lot more that wanted him gone than wanted to keep him, or so it seemed to me at the time, there were also a ton of venom from the BOB and new threads started just to have a go at the BIB, horses for courses but we just tend to see/remember what we want to see (from both sides). I still believe he would have got us out of the crap but we will never know one way or the other so meh.
When Bruce was in charge we were not getting hammered but still losing, to me the defeats to the Boro and Villa should have been it i am afraid, so how long will Ellis wait?, next march ? 2 wins in 21 is appalling, but give MON money in Jan then fair enough and hopefully get another striker in and 2 midfielders.
Very selective memory it seems. I said at the time about all the venom that was being spouted was by the Bruce In lot. They were continually abusing the what they called the BOBs!
