Nice point. Scraping those 1-0 type wins on an off day is what counts. We know we're capable of playing some great, slick attacking football and we all know the usual problems - not clinical enough up front and only one experienced out and out striker, who despite a fantastic strike rate this season so far, is not a target man or true box player, but wishy washy in the mid at times and vulnerable to shipping goals in quick moves from the opposition. Hopefully we'll have a good January transfer window and this will get sorted, probably still have to grind a few out though!
Due to their absences, I'd expect Sahin, Suso and Assaidi to start in the Europa game. Also, as he has had his 5th yellow card, Suarez to join them. Should be quite a decent team starting on Thursday.
all postive points are in feed factual in inarguable. they do not however detract form the clear points made about performance and frankly i must say this; LFC should stand for big club, not happy to win v southampton so we really ought not sweep anything under the rug of 3 points. we got them, thats important but we are struggling and will continue to struggle due to rather obvious flaws. sadly one of the biggest flaws is in gerrard's game.
8) We are now just one position and two points below Arsenal. 9) We are just four points behind Everton who are 6th 10) We now have + Goal difference. 11) Win next week and we go above West Ham (garunteed).
A win next weekend and we are guaranteed to be in the top half....And I belive we will get that win. Shelvey, Suso and Cole upfront like vs Young Boys? (2 hammers fans in a front 3.) Need to keep playing well, gring out some more results until we can add some quality goalscoring threat in january
Agree with this. Especially over the xmas/new year period where there are plenty of games and results seem to not always go the way you suspect. If we get a decent run of results then there is no reason why we can't be 5th or 6th and well in the fight. We've only lost 1 game in the league in the last 10 so we are on a decent run (although a lot have been drawn) but it shows we aren't losing games. What's that saying, turn your defeats into draws and draws into wins. If we do that with a few more games then we'd be looking good.
West Ham away is gonna be a really tough game without Suarez. I also don't fancy playing Sterling against them either. I'd probably go something like -------Sahin------- Gerrard------Suso-- Of course it's more likely to be -------Gerrard------- Sterling-------Enrique
How did Ramirez play? I remember at the start of the season the Southampton fans were on here claiming they were a bigger club than Liverpool as he chose them over us (even though we never even bid for him) but they seem to have gone very quietly recently.
I think I'd prefer the second option to be honest. But expect Enrique to be at LB with Suso or Assaidi on LW
We've had a couple of different (to Suarez) goalscorers recently. Maybe Suarez being missing will make others step up to the plate? It might even confuse the West Ham defense because they won't know who the main man is
He looked a threat, at times, like Lambert, but overall he didn't see as much of the ball as he should have. I, too, have noticed a dearth of gloating Saints fans when compared with the surfeit around on our board at the start of the season. Funny that, isn't it?
Our second highest goal scorer is own goal.... Saying that, I'm sure missing one game at West Ham isn't too much to worry about. I'm optimistic that without Suarez someone will step up their game and get a goal or two.
Hopefully someone will step up as has been said. Wes Ham will be boyed by todays result, but I can see us getting someone out of it. Maybe start with Shelvey, Cole and Suso like we dig against Young Boys. Worked well. By the way you lurkers sign up!
Yeah, but those four games are some mightly scalps to claim...Norwich, Reading, Wigan and Southampton
Morgan v West Ham any one? Personally, I think Joe Cole will come in to the team. -----------Lucas------- ----Gerrard----Allen------ Cole----Shelvey-Sterling-
