Thats up to you Musty, but he was at least good enough to get us promoted and then good enough for Liverpool to pay us £7m quid. ..and thats good enough for me fella..
Think i made a similar point earlier, all things considered he probably thought the job was going to be harder this year and there is no way on earth he could have brought in 5/6 players of as high quality than Laudrup managed. A change also freshened things up in the whole squad, some of the old stagers were put in their place and others who were going to leave, like Routledge have progressed and are like a new player! all done without spending our transfer budget!! i think everything worked out for the best,we dont know yet because we aint safe but i think we have improved this year dispite massive upheaval of the management and squad, thats some feat !
Good point - without it being disrespectful to Rodgers for getting us promoted, is there something to be said for changing our manager after achieving stability? Is that possibly why second season doesn't really apply, because there are so many different players and a different philosophy? Prob second season syndrome is down to a lack of change in this way, not finding different ways of playing or motivating and focusing players.
They are in their own little bubble for sure, and will not put up with little up starts from Swansea, they can't debate and if challenged your posts go missing, and your threatened with a ban?? That's been my experience, like walking on egg shells with these Scousers, pretty sad if you ask me. And then there is DAISCOUSER????...............
Cartoon good post, but can't agree with it all. there are two issues! the first is the Scouser board, it's like walking on egg shells over there, ask any Spurs posters! then there is DaiScouser, blowing smoke up Rodgers arse on here all the time, which doesn't help. Most of us have moved on, but clearly some haven't including Dai. I never wanted Rodgers here, that's a matter of record, but he did maintain our legacy from Martinez & Sousa very well, but in the bigger picture, I don't see his importance, in the same manner as Martinez and Sousa, and when he left, I must admit I was one of the few, that was really pleased, and new we would get a better manager, and we did on a grand scale in Laudrup, to me there's simply no comparison. Why was I so indifferent to Rodgers leaving? Well firstly I never rated him as a manager, I took on board what the Watford boys had to say, and I never bought into his Blarney, and I demonstrated that with my 'Brenda the Tea Lady' which didn't go down to well at the time of his appointment. At the end of the day, he will have his place in the scheme of things, here at Swansea, but he's not rated by me, never was never will be. As for DaiScouser, what a plonker!......................
No, not in the least, grateful to him for not messing up our legacy, and he did bring in some quality players, that we all new we needed up front for the push to the premiership, I think that had Sousa and Jenkins hit it off, we would have been up with Sousa, all he needed was a striker in January, and we could have been flying, but we had to endure Pintado all that season. To much is being made of the achievement of getting to the Premiership under Rodgers in my view...............
