Gazza far better than Witshire, more skill. creative and dynamism . Ardilles I would say was slightly superior to Caz but not a lot in it. Fab and Hoddle different players but on par. Love God ,Ricky Villa for the best Wembley goal ever
Spuds Banner I hate to piss on their chips but isn't this mentality exactly what Arsenal are trying to steer away from ? Taking glory out of failure is exactly what some people have been accusing us of.
sure he did . shhh , there there . spud delusion encapsulated. and gazza , hoddle and ardiles would walk into any team .
Ummmmmm....ossie did play in a winning world cup final team....so he did win a world cup....so not sure how that's delusion. And as for your view of ossie hoddle and gazza ....well that says a lot about your lack of football knowledge pre the wenger years or your blind dislike of spurs. They were all fantastic players that would walk into any top team today...just like Brady would.
he didnt say that did he .? he said " HE WON THE WORLD CUP " like the other 10 players had fuck all to do with it. I suppose we could then say Torres won the world cup so hes a great player eh ? Dont really pan out does it ?
Ardiles was a key member of a world cup winning side, played in every game in the tournament for a very good team, as for Hoddle I believe that your manager was a massive fan of his and I expect you respect is judgement! You cannot blindly state that just because someone played for Spurs they were not great players, Arsenal have been way ahead of Spurs in the premier league era, but if you were pick two teams featuring the "best" players to play for each club in the last 20 years they would be a quite an even match up in my opinion, Arsenals team would be harder to pick as you have had more great players, but the Tottenham team would be very strong (and 1 player might make both sides)
Gazza is soo overated it's amazing. Great technically but well..thats it. (he was'nt smart or athletic - so technique is really all he had) I would rate Paul Scholes far higher than Gazza in the list of great English players. ...and yes I also think Wilshere will be a far better player.
Hypocritical much ? i remember when spuds came 4th and qualified for the CL . Never mind " like a trophy " it was like the second coming of christ ,. tut tut
Well that's the point I'm making. For Arsenal it's seen by some as a 'failure' coming 4th, whereas for Spurs this sort of 'failure' is enshrined as being glorious
I might not agree with you on the Spurs players mentioned, I remember them playing and they were great players. But your assessment of Spurs qualifiying for the CL is spot on
It was YOUR manager that said 4th was like a trophy not me....i hate all this 4th place ****e ... gimme the "mickey mouse cup" any day...football is about glory and winning NOT coming 4th. Was not having a dig actually was simply drawing a parallel

4th is NOT a success...it's only since sky's money has arrived that football has whored itself out. I loved us winning the carling cup in 2008 - took my kids to have their photo taken with the cup yet it is generally regarded as a mickey mouse trophy (even though Man utd, Chelsea, Liverpool (when they were good) and you lot were in the finals and winning it most seasons). I have no idea where spurs came in 1981/1982/1985/1991/1999...I couldn't care less to be honest but I do know we won a trophy in those years. Knowadays EVERYTHING is a failure unless you qualify for the champions league and that is bollocks. anyway I finished ranting and am off to buy tissues to soak up my tears when Martin Jols fulham give you ****ers yet more reason to laugh at us
I agree with pretty much all of that, but the point I was making was that Spurs are glorifying failure (coming 4th) whereas Arsenal realise that they should be doing better
