Of course, I'm under no illusion of the reputation of MP. But there is surely no one better than HR in terms of prem knowledge and contemporaneous ( Is that a word? ) there is no one better.

You wrote "But if not Harry, if you could choose anyone" so I chose. Maybe i wouldn't want him in this situation, but give him all summer to work with the team and I think he would do good. But for this kind of situation Harry all the way.
BTW contemporaneous I have no idea what does it mean and I don't see myself googling it.

I'm trying very hard but I can't find anyone that would be better than Harry. B-I-N-G-O was his name and wheeler-dealing was his game, B-I-N-G-O

He's the best man for the job right now and that is all that counts.

Long term, it takes a slightly different slant - does he want the grass roots stuff that he probably won't get the chance to see through but, so far, the setup is holding so not an issue.

I'm personally fickle to the point where I had my doubts but now he's here then we keep him for as long as possible - no Spurs style running after someone younger. I can already tell he's got the passion for it so just let him do what he does best.

Oh, and in our position, then I'd choose Moyes. He battled very hard in his early days but is class through and through.

I think the problem is, 9s,that genuine motivators are hard to come by - our new manager does have it (his best asset) but not many others do.

There's a rescue job that needs to be done and a good team that needs to be convinced to perform - Harry's as good as anyone at that.

There's always been a balancing act between saving our sorry arses and keeping the long term goals going.

I can't think of better for the interim based on what I've seen and heard but I think I'm too caught up by all the vibes coming out of the club to be truly dispassionate.

Longer term, if he does deliver and has the appetite to at least set up the future then let Redknapp run it as far as he can. I'd prefer a younger guy that can grow but, as Brix said the other day, it's better to bring these people through and so, in an age of tactics, learning the motivational stuff from an old hand can't hurt.

    Stick not twist now. :)

you have the best man for the job and i miss having arry as our manager at spurs.

the guy has bags of charisma and will.get a postive reaction from your players, its just a shame your chairman waited so long to make the call, but aslong as by january you.have caught up then you will be in premier league next year.

Harry is the right man for the job. If it wasn't him O'Neill always gets a positive reaction in his first season but unusually seems to have lost it at Sunderland. You need more than motivation at this level and Harry always seems to encourage positive football...
