Beckham bigging up 'Arry and The Slobbering Bulldog. When asked about the reports, former England captain David Beckham said: "I heard the Monaco thing on the way to training this morning from a friend in London who said: 'I hear you are going to Monaco?' "That was the first I had heard of that. I am very flattered by some of the serious interest I have had and it is always nice to be recognised by good managers with Carlo Ancelotti, Harry Redknapp and Sam Allardyce saying they would love me to play - it means a lot to me.
In terms of talent / ability, no! Zidane was clearly the better of the two but it was the attitude that made the difference. IMO Collymore had everything and could have been a world star had he wanted it, unfortunately he was more interested in "other things" Whoever said we got nothing for him, didn't we sell him to Villa for £6m...?
Liverpool have identified Daniel Sturridge and Tom Ince as their two main transfer targets. (Tony Barrett, The Times)
You're right, we do need to get rid. However, depending on who is to pay the wages, loaning him out is the next best thing. We get a loan fee and they pay his wages, we are financially better off In reality, we'll send him to West Ham for free and pay all his wages to boot
From the BBC Gossip page... Would I like to see us pay Sturridge £80,000 per week...? No! Would I like to see us guarantee him a central position...? No! Can anyone guess was my overall thoughts on this bit of gossip are...? I'll give you a clue, it starts with 'F' and ends in 'uckoff'
It's clearly bollocks either way. I don't get how a player can 'demand' something, and yet there isn't even a single quote to suggest so.
must have taken barrett all of two seconds to draft that story... god you'd think they'd at least make a new name up at this point. for the record if we get 17mil for carroll we are lucky now. so if we get rid of cole and carroll we'll be lucky.
I realise this is quite a old comment but it just occured to me... Haven't we bought a player by the name of Ince for £6m before...?
i really also have to agree on the calling it bull. if a guy is an insider or linked to chelsea yet can pull a ba v carroll swap out of thin air (which btw sounds to me like the sinle worst deal of all time) then i have to wonder. now 12mil was toted about inthe summer for sturridge so it might be a real figure or not but its not new and then saying it'll get done early is then using rodgers recent interview. If i wanted to give someone an in the know type of thing i'd link anyone already linked and get a figure and then say is first week... no-one remembers when they ar wrong yeah? not that i care mind at 12mil you can't really lose money on the guy i suppose. BTW on ince... its not true nor will it be. the kid moved for football and he can stay moved cos i cannot see him fitting into our system and improving things so i can't see us spending all that without selling
We'll never buy Ince back. Let him go because of his attitude and silly contract demands despite his ability - we're not gonna buy him back for considerably more than we sold him for just because he's playing well (which we knew he could do anyway!).
