    Don't you want me Dempsey?

(on reflection it doesn't really make a lot of sense, but there we are)

As you know, I'm in the don't boo him camp, but putting that aside to enter the spirit of this thread, there is that Green Day song 'American Idiot' (no offense intended, DR!).

I think DR can come up with a few cheesy American rock love anthems if he tries hard enough.

"Can't Buy Me Love" or continue the Rafa theme, "Clint Dempsey works where he wants".

I have a feeling that the Hammy End will surpass us all.

None taken, Captain. Great song, but it doesn't lend itself to a good chant.

How about "Dempsey, we don't adoooore you" to the White Stripes tune use for Oh, Bobby Zamooooora"

I heard some chanting over the replay, but couldn't make out the words. Could you folks get anything going?

Nope. When the first goal went in, heads on the terraces, like those on the pitch, went down.

There were minor chants in the first half (when Dempsey had a couple of shots go wide) of "You Greedy B___" bit that was about it. As I mentioned in the other thread he got derisory boos throughout but nothing hostile. In return he didn't join in the Spurs' goal celebrations.

Mousa, when he was subbed clapped to fans at both ends, and was given a little chorus of "Mousa, Mousa, Mousa Dembele".

Don't know why but even in the first half there was a lack of atmosphere - perhaps a second sense of what was to folllow
