OK - are they 'tough'; are they chavvy; are they an art-form?

Who has got 'em? And, if so, what have you got as a tat?

(I haven't, but I do occasionally fancy one....)

I feel they are too commonplace now to carry any sort of interest.

They barely warrant a "huh" these days. I think the majority of people, in fact, have something daubed on them now.

I am still a blank canvass. Undiluted. Pure. Unmarked.

I've got a dragon on the top of my left arm I got when I was 18 and also the wife's name down my forearm and got my son and daughters names on my chest. I have thought about getting some bigger ones in the past but when I get told the price I go off the idea.

I'm not a fan of them, especially football tattoos. Dunno about chavy, it's just out of personal preference, not having a pop.

Seen some pretty rank ones like that bloke with the all over body art, including his head.

    Each to their own though.

I've got two. One around my arm and some arabic writing on my back.

They're commonplace these days as someone else said.

    |don't mind watching InkWars and the like on D Max. The skill some of the Tattoo artists have, are incredible.

But I have never seen a design that I would want on my body for the rest of me days.

I have no problem at all with anyone having them, but do not like to see tattoo's on hands, necks or faces.

I was thinking about getting a tattoo in the future, what really pisses me off are the stupid people who get contradicting tattoos, like some people will get tattoos of Jewish heritage like the Star of David and Hebrew writing, without knowing what they actually mean to Jewish people

    I have 7.
Tribal on inside forearms and top of both arms.
I have a large tigers head on my back, and tribal St George cross designs on both my outer calf muscles.
They can all be covered up if I want.

I'm old school, my first was a spider on a web in 79, done down Hessle Rerd.

Then a stray cat on my forearm and the cartoon woman from the middle of the stray cat records done by a mate in his kitchen a year later(I was only 16 and my wrist was really thin, at he time and he had to Sellotape my arm to his kitchen table to stop it twitching. Despite that, the cartoon woman still has three heels on one shoe).

Then the same mate did a dagger with a dragon wrapped round, that went from my shoulder to my elbow and took two days. He was a Hells Angel from Anlaby, who made a living spraying amazing petrol tanks for other Hells Angels, his tattoo gun worked off a transformer from a kids train set. He did everything freehand and was an amazing artist, a wasted talent really.

And there's the story of my misspent youth.

I'm even older school , king Arthur did quite a few of mine when he was on midland street and I use to go in thee cafe .. I often nipped to shop for arthur and at times if it was quiet he would bang me on a tattoo for free ... Iv got the king Arthur Stars all over my hands

Course tattoo's didnt have the colours they have now or the thin needles .. At the time Arthur often refused to tattoo females and you only saw them on the odd Prossie ..

Didn't have any more done for some years but I got one on my leg in Skegness last year ..

Not much room left on arms and hands etc

Got the City badge on me chest. Got my sons name Billy inside my right arm. Was going to get my Grandson's name on the inside of my left arm until my son decided to call him Elliot. There was no way I was having Billy Elliot on my arms so I just got my Grandson's initials on my left arm.

Strange really I am terrified of Needles , Blood tests etc etc but don't mind having tattoos done ...

Time and place Mel U I think and who you hung around with back in the late 60s early 70's .

I always liked Ray Harvey's especially the snake on his head

I like the club crest that one supporter has on the back of his head. I've seen the guy (big fella) at a few away games but not recently (maybe his hair grew!)

You don't see many tattoo's like Ray's, he was hardly inconspicuous, with those crosses all over his face.

Lovely bloke though(unless you pissed him off).

I've got mine booked in for January, already had a test sitting to just ink it on. A line from song that reminds me of daughter, line of song that reminds me of wife and then line from William Blake, all on shoulder blade.
